Purging voter lists is not always a bad thing

Last edited Thu May 31, 2012, 01:51 PM - Edit history (1)

I just wish that Dems had long ago taken this issue away from republicans by pushing through legislation of their own....legislation that would have applied to ALL states in a spelled-out way.

Like yearly, 90 days AFTER a general election.

And anyone whose vote was ACCEPTED within a 3-election cycle would be assumed to be a legitimate voter.

That annual purge could easily cross reference any deaths or naturalizations.

What would help also would be for an AUTOMATIC registrations of all who turn 18 or are naturalized. School districts know the ages & addresses of all students.

When a women changes her name to a married name, a simple "change of record" to voting lists should be automatic.

Voting is a right, and registration should be automatic.

Everyone should be automatically registered for the firt time as an Idependent, and when they show up for their first primary, they can choose their party ballot.

It is really not rocket science.
