The standard anti Obama media outlets write an article that says nothing, but that refers to some other article, and the flood begins here on DU.

One article spurs 5-10 blog commentaries outside DU, and then each of those gets posted (by a few posters) on DU as if something new has come to light.

The funny (sad) part is that anyone thought there wasn't a list in the first place. We use drones to hit specific targets. The idea that we would be trying to hit specific targets, but not have a list is crazy.

Hell ... during WWII, each side had their LIST. If you can kill the leaders of the other side, you do so. OBL was asking his folks to kill Obama. Duh!

But no ... Obama is apparently evil.

I've been saying that the attacks on Obama from the left and the right will become more and more shrill as it becomes more apparent that he will be re-elected.

That a sub-set of progressives MUST oppose, more vehemently, whatever is good (but not perfect) done by Democrats; than what is bad by the gop.

Maybe ... It gives the the opportunity to be "right", whomever wins.

One of the other things I've seen goes like this ....

"Obama is not FDR!!"

FDR had 4 terms, and huge majorities in congress, and even when congress was more even, it was not as insane as it is today.

Of course FDR also set up interment camps for Japanese Americans. That sin is quickly forgiven by the "Obama isn't as good as FDR" folks. But those same folks are angry that Obama can't get congress to close GITMO, a detention facility that he did not create.

So I do think for some of them ... being pissed off is the default setting. And the phrase "Yea butt ... " is their preamble for anything Obama does that moves us forward.

We would do exactly the same thing.. If we actually got into a real war and I don't mean anything like the police actions we have had since Korea, EVERYTHING would be on the table including interning people of the same nationality as the country we were at war with... It is only logical......

Those politicians, of both parties, were cut from a different cloth than those of today.

Back in FDR's (and even LBJ's) day, the President or party leadership could grab a legislator by the ears, figuratively or literally, and give them a good talking to, and no one would hear about it.

Today, one cross word and the legislator's crew leaks a blow by blow and transcript, if not the video, and before the talking to is over, a press conference has been scheduled to whine about how "mean they were to me."

coming from union leaders and the Wisconsin Democratic leadership against the DNC. MoveOn even started a petition to urge the DNC to get involved.

All the original reporting a 3 weeks to a month ago carried specific criticism around the foot dragging of the DNC.

Finally, the DNC responds 2 weeks before the election and it's like, "hallelujah and see you stupid whiners, the DNC and Obama are doing something! You're trying to undermine this President. You are falling for a rightwing meme. You are a useful idiot for the Republican Party."

Somehow we are supposed to forget that just a short while ago, the national party organizations were doing very little. And we are supposed to forget the MoveOn petition. And we are supposed to forget the pleas of local Wisconsin activists and union members.

We are supposed to forget people like this:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/05/22/1093925/-The-DNC-ignores-Wisconsin-ignores-lies-to-hangs-up-on-rank-and-file-WTF-
The DNC ignores Wisconsin, ignores, lies to, hangs up on rank-and-file. WTF?

We found out last week that the Democratic National Committee now led by Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz refused a request for $500,000 by the Wisconsin Democratic Party needed for the critical "ground game," the GOTV effort needed to overcome Walker's money advantage going into the recall election.
Half a million dollars could do much for that effort, but it is a fairly small amount for a major party's national committee, chump change really (in relative terms).
It seemed like it had to be a mistake, an oversight perhaps. It got some national attention, and a week ago rank and file democrats began to contact the DNC, urging the powers that be there to correct the error. A petition was begun, over a hundred thousand signatures collected and fairly quickly.
But still no money. The DNC gave a tepid statement of support. The Chairwoman would visit (eventually). No money.
So we called and faxed and e-mailed and tweeted again and again to find out WTF was going on. And to express outrage, and to request, beg for, demand that they act. And to explain why this was so important. To threaten to pull ongoing support. Etc.
I took it upon myself to call often, and I found out from DWS's office that meetings were going on. They were getting our message, loud and clear, they said, financial support was imminent, the Chairwoman was involved, their support would be comprehensive, etc. etc. They said.
By the end of last week Wassserman-Schultz's office assured me that an announcement would come within 24 hours enumerating the DNC's high level of support.
Over the week-end, word was that they were going to spring for $2 million. It turned out though that this was not the case, the $2 million was money already promised by the Democratic Governor's Association.
So I called back today to ask WTF (again), and to express frustration. But with today's contact, I am no longer just frustrated. I am appalled.
The people in Debbie Wasserman's Schultz's office lied to me, they hung up on me, and they will not return phone messages. They're hearing from us loud and clear alright, but they're not at all interested.

But that's not what is being discussed in this sub-thread.

What we are talking about is people, particularly here at DU, pushing the false narrative that "Unions feel abandoned by (President) Obama in Wisc. Recall."

And in this case, the person posted "evidence" that the Unions felt abandoned by the DNC. I was merely pointing out that the DNC is not President Obama.

In contrast, Walker who has not met with union leaders recently attended an annual the annual ceremony to honor law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty while he and others criticized Barrett for not doing so.

MILWAUKEE - It turns out, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was in Oshkosh talking with union organizers when he missed an event in Milwaukee honoring law enforcement in southeast Wisconsin, including Milwaukee Police officers.
http://www.620wtmj.com/news/local/152046615.html

There is nothing to indicate that the unions feel abandoned by Barrett.
