an interesting observation as I worked as an election judge in Red Texas

Young Republicans were PISSED!

We had some young soldiers on leave who voted. They read their ballot...then they read our ballot.

After they submitted their ballots, they came over to visit.

I asked if the woman was on leave. She validated they received a month off after a year deployment in Afghanistan.

Yeah,I replied,I remember my kid's R & R when he did his time in Iraq.

"Your kid's a vet?"

Yeah,he did three tours over there.

My alternate judge said-"Three of my grandsons did tours after 09/11"

I left it at that.

"IAVA has some good resources for you when you're home. They helped my son.Maybe you guys-pointing at R judges- can give them some other resources"

"hey,thanks,man"...said the soldiers ...smiling and waving.

The Republican election judges looked like they sucked lemons.

Republicans send other people's grown children off to war, not their own. They wouldn't know of resources for vets.

Thank you for working as an election judge.

the Republican Ballot had nothing but referendums Repealing Obamacare, prayer in school, school vouchers, redistricting,no new taxes.

The Democratic ballot had referendums legalizing casinos, granting citizenship to individuals who have attended Texas schools for three years or more.and stop futher elevation of college tuition.

Good grief- if you were a vet who served in a warzone, which one would you be looking at and rolling your eyes?
My son is considering joining IVAW

we had all ballots posted before people entered the room. The younger voters almost looked apologetic when they picked the R ballot(there were a lot of local elections). We told them they could vote a split ballot in the General election,so please come back!
