BREAKING - AP: MORE Armed Men Arrive At Malheur Claiming To Defend Occupants

This was bound to happen .. WTF.. By simply ignoring this for so long, and NOT surrounding the place to cut off access to food & other supplies, it's like our so-called 'law enforcement' -- both local and Federal -- are fucking ASKING for this to happen.. I have no more words. This is a disgrace and an embarrassment to me, esp. because I live in Oregon.

More Armed Men Arrive At Malheur Claiming To Defend Occupants
by AP * Jan. 9, 2016

A convoy of more than a dozen pickup trucks carrying armed men arrived at a national wildlife refuge in Oregon on Saturday.

Some of the men carrying rifles told journalists they were there to help with security for the group that has occupied the headquarters of the refuge since Jan. 2.

OPB’s Dave Blanchard confirmed the men said they were members of the Pacific Patriot Network, a consortium of groups from Oregon, Washington and Idaho. They arrived at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge midmorning, carrying rifles and handguns and dressed in military attire and bulletproof vests.

Pacific Patriots Network founder and leader Brandon Curtiss says the group isn’t there to support the occupation at the refuge. “We’re here to establish a security buffer between the gentlemen here at the refuge, the community citizens, as well as law enforcement,” Curtiss said.

One of the original occupiers of the refuge, LaVoy Finicum, said the group appreciates the Pacific Patriot Network’s help, but “we want the long guns put away.”

Sat Jan 9, 2016, 09:42 PM

What we are seeing is the local ranchers wanting them out and eventually that will reach a fever pitch as it's hurting the local economy. Eventually, with the locals getting more and more upset the Feds will be in a much better position to bring in the National Guard or whatever. We just have to let things fester between all the good old boys a bit more. Not to mention, some kind of violent outbreak could occur on its own quickly escalating things. They should be allowed to get plenty of alcohol with the donation money coming in. Eventually someone is going to crack and they may start killing one another. At that point the American people will be saying by a very wide margin "It's time to stop this nonsense, the Feds have been more than fair, send in the National Guard and take these guys out". Most would probably surrender at that point with a few nuts like the Payne guy who has a death wish going out in a blaze of idiocy.

I haven't heard of any serious "fever pitch" developing on that front. Can you link
that one? or is that just a guess?

Neither have I noticed any widespread public sympathy for the Yeehawdists, only
that white supremacist gunhumpers are quietly organizing to send more and more
'militias' to the scene.

This cannot work out well, not by ignoring it. IMHO of course.

I live in Oregon and am deeply embarrassed and offended that Oregon is becoming widely

Did President Obama do anything to the white middle and upper income OWS protestors? Nah. The NYPD was handling that situation (badly) based on all evidence.

76. Three things
Sat Jan 9, 2016, 11:49 PM
Jan 2016

1) this has nothing to do with elections. It's about respect for the law, respect for the local Burns
community (who mostly want these idiots gone), and respect for Federal lands which Native Americans
regard as sacred. Even the Audubon Society has expressed their outrage and dismay about this being
allowed to drag on and on.

2) This is happening in my face, in my back yard metaphorically. and I have every right (and
I think a responsibility) to my own feelings about it, and to express them openly.

3) Regarding the OWS crackdown, contrary to your claim, that was a nation-wide FBI-coordinated
law enforcement action, not a one-off NYPD event;
and it was a brutal and heartless action at that, aimed
at UN-armed peaceful (mostly young) people; I was there and I remember it well.

Sun Jan 10, 2016, 12:49 AM
Jan 2016

The FBI is not accused of harming anyone. They did not teargas anyone. Local law enforcement did that. Did anyone die?

#1 this has everything to do with elections because that's why these white terrorists took over federal lands. They want a gunfight with the Obama admin, the black guy's admin. Yes the terrorists have no respect for the law but this is not just a matter of taking over a federal bird sanctuary. This is armed sedition and this needs to be handled in a way that does not lead to civil war which is what the Republicans want. I know PBO has the situation under control. And just because YOU can't see what's going on doesn't mean there's nothing going on.

#2 no one is denying your right to post your feelings and outrage in a public forum. I assume you know how that works and what that means.

BURNS — The FBI has staged at the Burns Municipal Airport, blocking entrance to a U.S. Bureau of Land Management base there used to fight fires during the summer.

Men in FBI gear were posted Saturday in a sport utility vehicle along Airport Road about five miles east of the city, keeping cars and trucks from entering a BLM "SEAT Base" where another large vehicle sat equipped with FBI signage, numerous antennae, a satellite dish and other gear.

Why would they let that happen? Does the word "roadblock" not exist anymore?

Did the FBI or whoever cut electricity? How about jamming cell phones? How about cutting access to the fucking media?

I'm not talking assault here...just the kind of isolation that cops do when there is this kind of situation.

This time, there has to be prosecutions.

Have reinforcements back at the air base. Let the Yeehawdists get drunk and start shooting each other. Then, declare a public emergency in the interest of saving human life, cutoff the perimeter and surround them, tightening the noose, meanwhile letting them kill each other.

Oregon Militia Standoff Surrounded By Heavily Armed Pacific Patriot Network — Ammon Bundy ‘Blindsided’
January 9, 2016
Patrick Frye

The Oregon militia standoff continues to this day, with Ammon Bundy’s group continuing to occupy parts of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge and the Harney County Courthouse. Without warning, heavily armed members of the Pacific Patriot Network surrounded the encampments with their convoys. The Pacific Patriot Network is an umbrella group for Oregon militias, and they say they have set themselves between the Bundy Randy group and the U.S. federal government’s agents in order to work out a peaceful resolution to the Oregon standoff.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, Bundy’s Oregon militia initially told reporters they had enough food and supplies to carry on the standoff for years, but they are now saying they are willing to accept donations in order to help them.

...

Now, the other Oregon militia groups are directly intervening in Ammon Bundy’s standoff. A convoy of heavily armed men surrounded the federal courthouse and also sent more men to the wildlife refuge. The Pacific Patriot Network said they were going to act as a “neutral party,” but they also brought many men armed with rifles.

...

“Ammon felt blindsided,” Macfarlane said. “This was not a welcome development. We are trying to de-escalate here – then boom, they all show up.”

Eventually, they will get sick of the primitive conditions and want to leave. Their vehicles could be disabled by tanks running into them. The area should be surrounded and no one allowed in or out (without arrest). No visitors, no supplies &, hopefully, no gun play and definitely no surrender of federal land to appease these seditionists.

90. I wonder how long before other groups expect this level of deference
Sun Jan 10, 2016, 12:28 AM
Jan 2016

They're not really aiming their rifles at you, and they're not really taking over Federal buildings. They're just playful, and need to be indulged like those other guys.

And if you don't indulge them, some lawyer will help them sue you. "Hey, nobody was shot!" (yet)

OK, we dismiss all that. But whatever team has to deal with the next bunch will have to answer why there was no deference. And maybe violence could have been avoided if we let them set up their camps, walk their patrols, put up their flags, proclaim sovereignty.

What's the worst that could happen?

I sincerely think other wackos are hatching plans for setting up their own little psychodramas. Of being that military leader from The Postman. (Will Patton is a fine actor btw)

Being a regular guy, I would not place my family anywhere around the cult of the gun, but that's me.

On Saturday, it appeared his group's mission had expanded. Finicum said the refuge occupiers are now taking up the cause of other area ranchers who have complaints against the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. He wouldn't name the ranchers, but said the militants plan to dismantle a fence that keeps one rancher's cattle off some federal land.
