From staff reports

Eli Wheeler, 6, is excited to learn all about owl pellets and raptor talons on Saturday from Grace Noecker. He was at the Fontenelle Forest Nature Center with his three sisters, from left, Brooklyn, 11; Talia, 9, and Annika, 2, along with his mother, Kara Wheeler, for the annual Raptor Bird-day Party.

Eastern screech owl George perches on Deborah Woracek's hand, and Grasshopper, a swainson's hawk, shows off its talons on Jeanine Lackey's gloved hand.

Annika Wheeler, 2, munches on a cupcake as her 6-year-old brother, Eli, plays with a raptor craft. The mouse cupcakes were part of the festivities.

Kathleen Fleming, 8, and John Fleming, 6, learn about 3-year-old George from Woracek.
