I guess a hate group, The Family Research Council can get one in. Hmmmmm, I wonder if the KKK and the idiots in Oregon at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge will have reps. too.

The Family Research Council, a socially conservative Christian group that opposes same-sex marriage, secured Davis' spot in the House chamber at the U.S. Capitol.

(14,449 posts)Big deal. It's the president's last one and it's going to be much different then other years. I could care less who attends. Someday I hope they go back to writing a letter to congress instead of the official tv show.

(16,325 posts)Who invited her to the State of the Union, Cruz? He won't even be there! Will she claim she met with POTUS? As she did with Pope Francis. All the is, an attempt to get media attention and try to down play the POTUS and the State of the Union speech. Shame on the one who invited her to be there!

(24,975 posts)I thought that only the President and/or members of Congress invited people? FRC certainly has pull with some members of Congress but definitely this President.

(53,339 posts)Washington (CNN)Kim Davis has a secret admirer.
Someone -- a member of Congress, more specifically -- invited the controversial county court clerk from Kentucky to the State of the Union address, but she's not saying who.

"We are not releasing the names of the Congressmen who provided tickets for Kim and Mat because the focus should not be on the Congressmen or politics but on why Kim and (Liberty Council Chairman) Mat Staver are there. Kim will be in the gallery tonight as a counterweight to the President's message. She is representing many Americans who have been adversely affected by the President's policies, specifically this Administration's trampling of religious liberty," said Charla Bansley of Liberty Counsel.

(20,885 posts)To explain: When I, as a young lad, was a freshman in college, ('63) there was a title awarded to the fraternity brother of the biggest jock fraternity who exhibited the meanest, cruelest, most odious behavior, who was named "P of the Y," or "prick of the year."
Kim Davis is the Republican "P of the Y," and is collecting on the homage she is due.
