Why haven't they cut off water and electricity to the Oregon militants?

And blockaded the exits that can be traveled by vehicle?

If these people have to sit in the cold and the dark from 5 o'clock on, with no fresh water and toilets that stop working -- with cell phones that can't be recharged -- I doubt that they'll want to stay long.

ON EDIT: According to this Jan 5 article, it was supposed to have been done by now.

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jan/05/oregon-wildlife-militia-standoff-power-cut-off

A federal government official told the Guardian that authorities were planning on Monday to cut the power at the refuge.

SNIP

Any such move would mark a significant escalation in the crisis. The local sheriff, FBI and other law enforcement officials have so far held back from confronting the militia, who are heavily armed and have lookouts on a watchtower.

The militia have said they do not want a violent confrontation but made clear they are armed and prepared for the arrival of law enforcement officials. However, it appears that federal authorities were planning to use the power cut, and an attempt to starve the militia of supplies, in order to force them out.

“After they shut off the power, they’ll kill the phone service,” the government official added. “Then they’ll block all the roads so that all those guys have a long, lonely winter to think about what they’ve done.”

It's probably a very good thing I'm not in charge. Not only would I kill the power and the water and shoot the generator as many times as it took to kill it. I'd also knock a big hole in the roof (they get the bill), and I'd drop water into the building. No violence would be necessary, and I'd require them to actually beg to be arrested.

People in D.C. at Democratic H.Q. probably wringing their hands not to screw up in fear of losing the White House, and the Rethugs are playing the long game and they control most of the levers of power. These so called Patriots know full well what they are doing and the GOP will cover their collective asses. When Harry Reid mentioned there would be consequences for Bunkerville a few weeks ago in a local interview, that was a tip off for this to happen. There was a action plan in place by these so called Patriots it was a matter of timing. This is not a instant happening.

It is probably a local well and therefore can't be remotely shut off.

Cut the electricity and you now have a building with no heat at all, so pipes will be damaged by freezing. Cutting the electricity makes you responsible for all damage caused by freezing, instead of the dumbasses occupying it.

If you are in favor of damaging the building, there are easy ways to do it.

In the main Lodge should be a working wood burning fireplace. Most if not all of the CCC Camps have independent water sources. Believe they have Propane as a heat source. Lot of things these people are doing is for the Media and Optics to pacify their wannabe supporters.

take the plug from a wall and plug it into a generator. Only slightly more knowledge needed to wire a plug if the pump is hard wired.

If they forgot snacks, they might not have a screwdriver, pretty much all one would need, if that.

Alas rural area. So there are many reasons why they still have power I am betting the facility has a ground water source and independent power...aka generators. Plus they did pack those

So good luck cutting it off better question. It's been long enough for the ERT to seal all access and prevent them from going to town to dine and stay at hotels. Why don't we have an effective perimeter already?
