Wake up America!

I had a depressing conversation with my mailman a few minutes ago. I like to sit on my front porch and work on nice days like today. My mailman walked up to hand me my mail. Today it was only the Time Magazine with a red cover and "HOW TO DIE" in bold white letters. I quipped that people do not want or need to know how to die, it just happens, trying to make a little joke. He responded that I might need to know it if Obama gets re-elected. How in the world are the Repugs able to brainwash someone who's job is in jeopardy because of Repugs, to support them? If we cannot find a way to open the eyes of people like my mailman, we will never be able to throw off the yoke of corporate control. If I had not been so shocked, I might have been able to respond before he walked off. I will catch him the next time. I am open for suggestions and ideas on how to respond to him specifically, and to the other misguided individuals who share his delusion.

1. He might have just been trying to sound witty

I've known people who will do this. They follow the formula of Situation + Political name-drop = FUNNY!

I blame the 90's, when Jay Leno could get five minutes of laughter just by throwing the words "Gingrich" or "Clinton" into a crippled joke about the menu at carnival cruises or something.

It's still a disgusting social mental disease, but hey.

2. It doesn't help that too many Democrats are dolts when it comes to framing

the issues and appeasers/cowards when it comes to defending liberal/progressive values.

4. that wasn't a conversation,

you let him hit you with a zinger and then he walked away.

first thing you should have told him was the pukes made it mandatory for the USPS to pay their pension benefits out 75 years and they he won't have a job under a repuke assministration (stolen today from someone else)unless he gets on his knees in front of the privatized version of the USPS.

DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THE SHIT> IF YOU RESEARCH ANYTHING ON HERE (DU) YOU WILL HAVE ENOUGHT AMMO TO TURN HIM OR AT LEAST MAKE HIM THINK.

pssst, I wasn't yelling

5. Mine too

My postman is brainwashed too. He complained about the attempt to shut down the post office by front-loading the pension requirements - the bill the repigs passed. But he still love repigs, and recites right-wing talking points like a good robot.

You would think the cognitive dissonance would explode these low-paid repigs' heads, but of course it won't. Nothing new here, just like "Whatsamatta With Kansas" (the book) pointed out.
