(2,603 posts)I guess it could go into some crazy 2nd overtime and extend into the debate, but it's highly unlikely.
Additionally, fuck DWS for even scheduling 3 debates on Sundays before the primary. I hope it backfires spectacularly on her chosen candidate.
cascadiance
(19,537 posts)to teleport themselves from where they are watching the game to someplace they might watch the debate?
Don't think so! Just like they screwed us Iowa fans who were being forced to choose between the debate in Des Moines versus watching the Hawkeyes set a record in season wins against Minnesota in the ONE game that the DNC could have avoided scheduling against that had its time scheduled months ahead of time. And it wasn't just the football team that was playing that day in Kinnick stadium, but record numbers of college wrestling fans from both Iowa and Oklahoma State were attending a record setting wrestling meet in that stadium earlier in the day too.
If you are talking to Iowa voters, use this example to remind them how DWS as a surrogate to Hillary was trying to keep Iowa fans from tuning in to the Democratic Debate in a similar fashion. Do they want someone that will try to drive people away from the party just to get their own handpicked candidate nominated for president?
Cassiopeia
(2,603 posts)The truth is the game is highly unlikely to run late enough to be on at the same time as the debate. It should be over about an hour before the debate starts in fact.
I'm simply arguing that one fact.
As for scheduling debates on Sunday nights at times that will likely reduce viewership I feel that is complete bullshit. However, I don't need to distort the facts to express that opinion.
cascadiance
(19,537 posts)Many aren't simply prepared to just say "Oh, the game's now over. Sorry, gotta leave and go join other friends to watch the debate.". Life doesn't work that way for most of us who aren't already dedicated to the party.
That's the real point of debates is to attract those who might channel surf or have nothing else better to do to hear what the party is all about when they might not otherwise do so. Those kind of viewers will be lost with this kind of stupid scheduling, which I've shown with another post in this thread, isn't just a random accident, as at least two of these debates were scheduled opposite critical sporting events and the one I mentioned right at the same time as the debate in the same state where the debate was located in and site of the first caucuses (Iowa).

(39,909 posts)Most Working Americans already have too much to do on a big Play-Off Sunday.
Most Americans will choose an afternoon of Play-Off football,
and leave Must Do chores for the evening.
This is something that people who who do not watch football will ever understand,
but DWS does.

(19,537 posts)... since it made her look more like a DINO that I was trying to make a point that she was in terms of my commentary on her actions. But the post was hidden because it was said that I was trying to make a derogatory comment on her appearance, which was low on my priority list compared to posting what I felt her identity as a DINO was and is then. There are so many pols that look worse than her, and my purpose for being on this board isn't trying to comment on others' appearances here. So careful what images you post too, or they can be intentionally misinterpreted to be hidden too.

Now that college football season is over, and she can no longer pick the one prescheduled Iowa football game to alienate any Iowa independent voters who might be football fans, time to do it during the NFL playoffs too!
This Republican lite POS needs to go if we want to build this party back to what it used to be and what it SHOULD be again!!!

(19,537 posts)That puts the last game aver probably around 8 PM if you are lucky, and more likely 8:30 PM. If people are watching the game at parties, they don't suddenly pack up and say they have five minutes to drive across town to watch a debate, so the point is that the scheduling of this DID clash with the scheduling of the debate in real human life terms in terms of the way people would watch both events, even if the game MIGHT end before the debate starts (even perhaps within a few minutes of each other).
So, NO, a moderator taking this post down would only be the NAZI thing to do, not one that that lets us discuss this in a manner that discusses the real effect of timing of events, etc. on the lives of many that might vote in this election, and how it might affect the messaging of this party getting to them, or NOT getting to them!!!
