In all fairness, HuffPo, if you're going to slam Bowie, you'd better fucking include Jimmy Page too.

She may have "lost her virginity" to Bowie, but she logged quite a few underaged hours with Page, and he bragged about it often.

Google "Lori Mattix" if you don't know what I'm talking about.

When anyone of note dies, all the flies come out to nibble his or her bones. If Madonna dies, they will do it to her. Sadly Huffpo will be among the first, because for all the sanctimonous crap that Arianna likes to say, she puts out just the modern reply to the old tabloids

That's why I didn't provide a link or an excerpt. It's easy enough to find for anyone who wants it.

But the part that boils my blood is that she mentions Page in passing but not the fact that Mattix was also underaged when she was screwing around with him:

She looks back less fondly on her relationship with Jimmy Page, who allegedly kidnapped and locked her up in a hotel room.

But it's still important to acknowledge that what Bowie did was illegal.

Especially Page. To me, he was always just a heroin addict who bragged about sleeping with jailbait.

We regularly slam Ted Nugent on DU for the same thing. Nugent didn't do drugs, but he did have that draft dodging mess. In my mind, both men are scum.

But i do find him always with women much much younger a turn off. Especially as he has gotten old.

Women in their 50s would still be much younger but he needs to go for the ones in their 20s.

At least bowie did grow up.

I think statutory rape wasn't taken as seriously then as it is now, probably as a negative side effect of the hippie "free love" crap.
