How will the Oregon standoff end?

Something is wrong involving these Yeehawdist in Oregon

They are wanting use of the land to go for logging and mining, and of course grazing for themselves. and are wanting all of the federal land. I think that big business and probably money hungry republicans are using these assholes to get that land. I think they are probably going to get them killed or suddenly write a new law giving away our land.

I don't think the yeehawdist could do this alone. If they were alone, they would have been stopped by now. Someone is backing them and protecting them.

I think it's going to either end with
1) the "I'm willing to die for this cause" yeehawdist actually confronted will give themselves up crying like the wimps they really are.
2) a bloody scene that makes Waco and Ruby Ridge look like a day at the playground.
3) new laws enacted giving mining and logging rights to much of our government parks and lands and letting all the yeehawdist go free.

I'm going to go ahead and make this a poll. How do you think this standoff is going to end

I think the loud music blasted repeatedly is still the best way to go.

"Having My Baby" by Paul Anka, 24/7, at maximum volume, and those "patriots" would be out of there by noon the next day, begging for mercy.

Negotiations will happen before that but they'll want to look heroic so they'll hold out, but not so much that any of them gets hurt, or gets hungry and goes without snacks.

They've been able to vandalize a bit, but they came with a grand and noble purpose of opposing federal authority, which has been literally nowhere in sight because the feds arranged for sheriffs around the state to send in deputies to help protect the area residents. Thus our heroes are left alone to squat in some buildings in the wilderness, free to spout their defiance at each other and anyone who comes by to visit. The feds haven't even gratified them with a siege as they've been free to come and go.

I do expect any sentences to be unsatisfyingly mild. That's because the federal caution isn't about these guys themselves. The eye is on the many millions of modern anti-government John Bircher types who are sure our democratic government fell long ago and is controlled by a liberal or whatever dictatorship that is clandestinely sending all those who resist to secret prisons and camps. The feds know a bad ending here would feed a lot more fear and paranoia that would spread like wildfire in this social media age. The last thing they want is even one dead body, much less a Ruby Ridge.

Stupid situation, but we'll repair any physical damage quickly after these idiots get tired of wintering in the middle of nowhere.

they start planning their next target.

As long as none of them ever face consequences, they'll do this over and over.

2pooped2pop.

in addition, many law enforcement in the eastern portion of the state are members of various milita and have the support of us and state legislators who have not been as successful as they liked with enforcing permissions to mine, frack, dam, drill, blow up, lay pipelines, and generally, destroy oregon's public lands to their benefit for resources they will sell to china. oregon forests and watersheds have never fully recovered from clear cutting and mining - but corporations do not care.

they also have many compatriots amongst the muckymucks in the administration of the usda, dept of the interior, and lest we forget, the organization that is claiming control of the situation, the fbi.

it is a tangled web and for some of us, there are things we wish we did not know.

the corporate land/resources grabs of federal properties and the patriot militia movements are all mixed up together and perversely wedded. and, not in a good way. when the shit hits the fan we will truly not be able to differentiate our friends from foes.

for example, i have law enforcement and ex military family members who are caught up in all of this stuff. they just can't seem to be able to sort out how they are acting against their own best interests because the propaganda messages, fervor, masculine egos, misinformation, ignorance, and weaponized testosterone are becoming more and more uncontrollable & combustible.

but I want them out of there and out of my state yesterday.

Ideally, nobody gets hurt and there are no concessions on the regulation of government land.
