Then there are also the memoirs from campaign folks who come out and tell all books and they are always filled with these little details. Most are read by well political reporters... usually the level of writing craftsmanship makes them hard to read.

Myself, I am just highly irritated when fans of one of the two campaigns keep ignoring history, even when you have contemporaneous call outs, like the posted Olberman special comments. And if they ignored that, fine... not everybody pays attention to these events that closely... nor do they keep fucking notebooks (reporters do, mine started to be honest in 2012... that was also one nasty primary for the republicans. The GE was actually not that bad compared to previous years)... but calling other people names is so damn high school of them.

This is not a race for class president. Not that the POTUS has as much power as people on both sides of this partisan divide keep fantasizing and I wish, not that it is going to happen, that people paid half as much attention to their local city halls... hell I would be happy if they paid one eight of the attention, as they do to the presidency. I've also read a few tell-all campaign books in my time, and, although there are always plenty of shabby maneuvers and occasional genuinely dirty, despicable ones, I've never read anything about the Democrats that could even begin to cause an entire generation to split the way you say.

All the sustained extreme actions that could and did move populations of several generations the the right were on the GOP side, and honest political scientists are still identifying, analyzing, measuring, and predicting their effects.
