(16,286 posts)The system of health insurer, RX and hospitals are robbing us to death.
Literally.
If we would DEMAND single payer like the REST OF THE WORLD, it would no longer be a political football.

But yes, I agree that the ACA constitutes legal theft/transfer of wealth from poor to rich.
Remember that President Obama did mention that his policies could have been GOP policies in the Eisenhower era. The debate has shifted so far to the right since the 1970s that Eisenhower would have run as a Democrat today. And he would have been called a weak Democrat by the GOP.

(42,649 posts)Robbery in the literal sense by overcharging for care, and robbing people of their lives through premature mortality.
What the apologists for the industry in both parties are really saying is that working Americans do not deserve better healthcare because providing that care would lessen industry profits.

(53,521 posts)By incremental expansion, and building on existing structures, the US will arrive at a single payer system in
2050 or so. After the waves have covered Washington D.C.

(36,392 posts)She took single payer and Medicare for all off of the table. So besides our costs going through the roof, a huge chunk of Sanders supporters will be uninterested in voting democratic.
