NOT PRIMARY!
"Top Secret" info found on her private email server as per FBI.
Just on CBS news.

This is a truism in intelligence. I have read a lot of these emails, and 4 were classified after I read them. One I turned to my husband and said, "I should not be reading this now, but maybe in 25 years."

(1,975 posts)Where these emails part of the public information, or do you have privy to emails before they have been released?

(154,021 posts)First one. This led to the Reuters story on this

(8,710 posts)The markings don't make the documents classified, the content does. A document that contains classified information that isn't marked classified is still classified.

(154,021 posts)It reminded me of some of the material I read during my masters, since it identified things like the British Prime Minister, since some of the message was from him.
Suffice it to say, that is material that should be unclassed 25 years from now.
Here is the Reuters story on this by the way

And I have no dog in this fight, I could not give a fuck who the democrats nominate, but this story has always struck me as a damn technical one that most people do not understand.

(60,968 posts)One interesting possibility is that if there are Clinton supporters who are troubled by this, they might shift to O'Malley bringing him up above the 15% threshold in some districts.
However, my guess is that this is too new and not sufficiently definitive as to what it means - meaning that most Clinton people won't desert Clinton based on that.
(Are there people who can point to having been for Clinton, who now aren't -- I haven't seen that here.)

(115,406 posts)Why are these emails not classified when Hillary receives them but are later classified? Who is doing all this "classifying"??
SickOfTheOnePct
(8,710 posts)isn't really accurate - they weren't marked classified, which is far different from them actually being classified.
When someone has access to the different networks, i.e., Secret, Top Secret and Unclassified, he or she can take something that is marked as classified, type it into an unclassified email on the unclassified network and send it without markings. It doesn't mean the information isn't still classified, it just means that it isn't marked as such.
It's known as a data spill, i.e., introducing classified information into an unclassified system.

Yes, I like the 'impossible dreams' of Bernie.
Call him Don Quixote.
Whatever.
This is not a hit piece and doesn't have anything to do with the primaries.
Just something that came up on a national news broadcast 10 minutes ago.
Take it for whatever you may think it's worth.
Peace.

(8,710 posts)If she had classified information on her server, I see no reason why that fact shouldn't be made public.
What's telling to me is that she repeatedly says that she didn't receive any information that was "marked classified". Why not just say that she didn't receive classified information?

(27,835 posts)Hillary is toast - again.
Hillary has been declared "toast" so many times on this site, surely she's just a pile of cinder dust at this point.
Along with being "toast" on a regular basis, her campaign has fallen apart at least once a week, her numbers have been "tanking" daily, and her credibility has been ruined to the point where no one anywhere is supporting her.
And yet - she's still the front-runner, her poll numbers are higher than Bernie's or O'Malley's, and despite decades of RW attacks on every single aspect of her political and personal life, she's still standing.
The whole thing is starting to sound like Fred Sanford - the "big one" is always imminent, but never actually amounts to anything more than chest-clutching in a bid for attention over what inevitably amounts to self-induced agita.
