A theory on GOP strategy.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by In_The_Wind (a host of the General Discussion forum).

The GOP has the opportunity to have Sanders and Clinton spin each other out. It figures that this kind of effort would be necessary given the chaos and odious nature of their own primary and dour prospects for a representative candidate.

The way it works:

Allow Sanders to put up enough of a challenge that all of Clinton's scar tissue stretches to the point of reopening political wounds. Help out by running subtle "proSanders" ads in primary states.

The conventional wisdom is still that Sanders shows well but comes up short.

When Clinton wins the Dem nomination then lower the boom on an indictment. She's finished.

Kapow.

Just a theory. I'm not a conspiratologist, just a Democrat who wants to win.

Vote Sanders and avoid regret.

15. Who seem to also be the one who do most of the voting

since the GOP seem to be winning based on who controls both the house and senate along with a whole bunch of states. Time for us to stop fighting and get together and work to change that.

17. Until gerrymandering

and denying people their right to vote is stopped, they will continue to rig elections.
Start there.

7. Republicans do not run against Dems in a primary.

GOP Strategy against Dems reflects a General Election tactic.
But you already should have known that.

9. You can put republicans in your post, but it's still a divisive post to

divide the Democratic party.

12. I respectfully disagree

but I sense that you might not care.

Too often DUers are ultra-sensitive to this notion that supporting one primary candidate over another is divisive when, in reality, all of us would like nothing more than for all Democrats to be united.

We are all trying to figure out how to win and advance the Progressive agenda, right?

14. What does it serve you or anyone else

to engage in pedantics?

Have the discussion or get lost, with all due respect.

Send it to jury if it's a violation. Personally, I think these discussions need to happen between Democrats NOW. You can choose to police this forum or you can have a substantive commentary.

Up to you.

Chances are you won't get a hide, but more like a thread lock. I myself think like Bernie I don't give a damn about Hillary's emails!

8. The Republlican party doesn't have the power to indict anybody.

They are a political party, not a grand jury.

10. Riiiight

Because that's not how things work.

I understand what you're saying and you're not incorrect, you're just wrong.

She will be torpedoed in a general.

Sanders is less vulnerable. All they can do against him is lie. They can trash Hillary with the truth, or a certain version of it anyway.

18. Loretta Lynch, the AG, is the one who has to indict

Do you see her indicting the Democratic nominee during a general election campaign?

11. My opinion is that Sanders and Clinton don't need to go after each

other, any more. They need to concentrate on pointing out the weaknesses of the Republican candidates. Then the Democrats can decide which of the two Dem candidates is doing the best job of pointing out the weaknesses of the Republican Candidates, strategy and history.
