The media have been talking up this Sri Srinivasan all weekend

If you read his bio he's not exactly progressive in fact he's a corporatist he defended Exxon Mobil in a lawsuit maybe that's why the pundits like him.Don't do it Obama

1. All attorneys MUST "zealously defend the interests of their client"

That is an ethical maxim for attorneys, regardless of the client.

You may not like the clients, but do not blame the attorney for doing their job.

I would note, he is almost single handedly responsible for insuring DOMA went down in flames.

9. Apparently RBG was very good friends with Scalia

Do you find that problematic?

You need to look at his record as a judge, not an attorney. If he's an honest, decent judge, his friends shouldn't matter.

2. That's Obama for ya

God gives him an eleventh hour opportunity to salvage his "legacy" by appointing a true progressive and he still floats the name of a "centrist", even after the republicans have publicly blurted out that they would oppose any nominee he made.

He'll never learn.

6. Obama never floated his name. The media and pols on Twitter pushed him.

Of course, that won't stop your Obama rants and hate.

3. The media likes him because he was confirmed 97-0. They smell a fight if he's nominated.

They don't care one whit what or whom he represents. They know they have a story on their hands if a Senate fight erupts if he is nominated because the Repubs will have to explain why they changed their minds on him.

That's what they do. Everyone has the right to an attorney.

You cannot infer much from his work as a corporate or administration lawyer as to how he would vote. He is very qualified for the position though.

I suspect he would be like John Roberts or possibly Anthony Kennedy. Given his age you are looking at 30-40 years here.
