Can we drop with the fantasy Trump doesn't want to be President?

He is going to be the nominee and the polls are tied right now. Who wouldn't try their hardest to be President in those circumstances. It is wishful thinking he will willfully throw the election.

His boundless ego would settle for nothing less than to be the most powerful person in the world.

I don't think he wants to do the actual work that comes with the job, though. He probably figures he'll just hire flunkies to take care of that part.

I despise him, and I've quit watching him, and I'm very nervous this is going to get outta hand if he wins the repub nomination.

The more I see politicians, the less I like them.

They are best left unseen with the dust bunnies in the closet.

Various DUers have started OPs claiming that Trump is "about to give up", or "looking for a way out", etc. Those OPs amused me.

It ain't gonna happen.

actual job. He knows nothing about the Constitution, about world history or geopolitics, or about diplomacy. Like W, he just wants the status and attention. If he win, he would have other people do the actual work.

....when he doesn't think something is being done according to whatever he sees fit.

Whoever is actually qualified will quit quickly out of frustration. The unqualified people will remain, because they are less about doing the job and more about pleasing Donald.

The country will suffer greatly as a result.

His plan involves a fantasy "government" that doesn't exist.

He thinks "deliverables will be met" and "Major Shareholders needs must be tended to". He thinks he'll be able to fire someone based on performance.

Nah, that's crazy talk.

OP is spot on.

No, Donald Trump isn't running to prove a point or teach the GOP the lesson or help the Democrats or help Hillary Clinton.

Donald Trump is running because he's a textbook Cluster B personality and is obsessed about himself and other people paying attention to himself. So he'll do and say anything to get attention. And running for president--and potentially winning the presidency--is just extending the gravy train of attention that is his life.

And if he drags us down as a country into a burning trash heap just so he can feed his insatiable need for attention, so be it, all consequences be damned. It's about Donald. It's all about Donald.

And that is what makes him hands down the scariest person in the race, and possible the scariest ever major candidate to run for president. It's not even about ideology at this point. It's about pathology.

Now they are down to three but what happens with the other two? One might get all of the other's supporters is perfectly possible. They both seem alike to me, so it will be interesting what will happen.

Trump doesn't really want to be President - this is why he says more and more outrageous things. Note his frustration that he could shoot someone and still be winning. He started in it and is amazed he is still in.

doubt he has a clue what the job entails, of course. He probably thinks it's another CEO gig or something.

Historically, businessmen have been some of the worst presidents. Somehow, this seems like the absolute wrong time for an experiment of that nature.
