Let's say, god forbid, Trump wins the GE.
If he really doesn't want to be president, would he conceivably resign some time after he's sworn in? Leaving his VP to take over?
I figured Palin was gunning for it, but now Christie is too, obviously. Neither prospect is comforting.

(14,733 posts)I was all for Barbara Lee, but Keith is quite a bit younger, and as someone pointed out, it would mean a Jewish American President with a Muslim American Vice President, and be symbolic for more than just America, but also the world.

(33 posts)It would be a fantastic opportunity for Clinton to pick Castro and for him to be announced as the first Hispanic on any presidential ticket ever, huge win for the dems.
Its likely not going to be Rubio, Haley or Cruz for the GOP, so another white male is very likely now.

(54,332 posts)What if the plan is to plant an "acceptable" candidate on the ticket - Christie - as an insurance policy. If Trump is elected POTUS, it will probably be weeks not months before he commits an impeachable offense. Boom. He resigns. The RNC gets their choice.
