This is strictly about power and nothing but power. The machine will not let Bernie succeed under any circumstances. The fact he has gotten as far as he has with the entire establishment, and all the money of wall street and the multi-nationals stacked against him is nothing short of amazing. But the very system itself is designed to prevent anyone like him from succeeding and the American people are still to naive to understand the danger they have put themselves in. To late they will find out.
Everyone should have been aware of this going in. The rot is too deep and the fascist state has already grown roots. The future has gotten considerably darker and more ominous as the machine has shown the power of social programming and how it can bend an entire race of people to vote enthusiastically against their own interests as it did in SC. Just a little magic trick...and they have many, and those they don't they have the power to make up on the fly.
With Bernie goes your last hope of a peaceful revolution and the possibility of a fruitful life. No...now revolution will now have to be in the streets. The elites are ready and quite prepared. I think America when it does stand up is going to get quite a surprise when that boot heel comes crushing down.
They stole it all...they are not giving it back.
Power to the People.

(35 posts)Take a large population of people who are economically disadvantaged. Those are the very people in need of good accurate information by which they can make a rational decision. But, those very people are denied that information because they are the least likely to have the means to be active on social media. The overwhelming source of information of people of low economic status is the television. With the television they do indeed social program those very people in what to wear, eat, think, vote...and the do it because they are unaware of the truth that is denied them. Sorry you can't just dismiss me as a crackpot.

(44,183 posts)and got the vote out. Bernie is gonna win some of the next ones big too.
You have more faith in social media than I have, I mostly see a lot of misinformation and narcissism on the Twitter and the Facebook.

(1,508 posts)The citizens of this country refuse to band together that is the problem that allows the wealthy oligarchs from here and around to world to divide and conquer. Yes, Bernie is trying to implement a somewhat peaceful revolution, but I believe he realizes what he is going to try to accomplish is going to take people protesting in the streets, boycotting when it becomes necessary and in the end standing up, saying hell no we won't take it anymore and actually suffering in order to squeeze the Oligarchs out. I believe that is the only way it will happen. We will all have to suffer a bit, but in the end we will have a better nation, a better planet, and a more peaceful life.

(58,785 posts)to start by tossing a bunch in a pen and see which survives. Rather literally.
Btw, the conviction that we are on the abyss is very typical of some people who get politically involved. I believe it's actually for once fairly true, and hopefully you can be reassured that others are working on this also. Our machines, in fact -- you don't have to save the world by yourself.
Why not prepare yourself for battle by reading about the small-government (minimal-government/anti-progressive) movement, who is behind the Heritage Foundation and many other charitable foundations fronting for enemies of what we want, Charles Koch and the enormously powerful network he has put together, Richard Mellon Scaif, John Olin and infiltration of universities, infiltration of the legal system, Louis Powell (yes, the justice) and his memo 'Attack on American Free Enterprise System'? Just to start. Just to get a notion of how long this conspiracy has been going on and how deeply and widely it has infiltrated the psyche of America.
Also to replace that vague "they" with real names. Some of these archvillains are safely dead, but others are very much still busy subverting America, working behind the names of distinguished charitable foundations America thinks are doing good works.
Information really, really is power. For most of the decades they operated, almost no one knew how powerful they were becoming, but now that more and more people do -- they're in trouble. 300,000,000 of us don't want what they do.

(5,198 posts)but the population is awake and a revolution will come, that is a fact. People are awake and they know they have been robbed--all across the political spectrum.
Bernie Sanders is the best chance to unite this country where it counts, rebuilding infrastructure and less wars, which is why I accuse the corporations of being international cartels, they are working against funding American jobs, healthcare and human rights--and they do not want Sanders in because people may be empowered to make them accountable for their actions. Imagine that.
This is what the supporters of the status quo do not get--just how pissed off young people are who are in debt, and older people are having their SS stolen from them(us). That is why all of this $$$$ is necessary to pay for their protection, they're gonna need it if they think they can continue raping and pillaging the country.

(5,420 posts)I've been trying to alert people since Bush. It becomes so hard when the people that you think are politically aware either deny it, are too ignorant to see it, or sometimes laugh it off when it is so obvious that a child could put the pieces together.
I am sorry that I had children because it will be my grandchildren that will have to struggle to survive.
