!!!THE PUPPIES ARE HERE!!!
The puppies have arrived! I am really excited at this point. In 8 short weeks, I will be flying to Kansas to pick up my future Service Dog!

What does this mean? It means I need your help more than ever! I need help raising awareness and bringing attention to my fundraiser. I would like to meet my fundraising goal by May 1st. I need your help to do that! Now to share with everyone the cost breakdown and where your money is going. Of course, I don't expect everyone to pay for everything. I'm asking for help if you are able. I receive SSDI and I contribute what I can every month.
Where is your money going?
> $1,200 for puppy from JLS Dalmatians http://www.jlsdals.com
> $350 for a round trip ticket from Cincinnati, Ohio to Wichita, KS to pick up the dog.
> $500 for standard obedience and good citizen training and certification from CCDTC in Milford, Ohio http://www.ccdtc.org
> $1,500 for up to 18 months of Service Dog training at Wagmor Service Dogs in Tipp City, Ohio http://www.wagmorservicedogs.com
> $$$$ unknown amount for transportation to/from training, food, training vest, etc.
>$$$$ Veternarian, microchip, shots, health check.
I will provide receipts for all money used. This will be a completely transparent fundraiser. If you ever have any questions, please ask!

(19,705 posts)For what disability, specifically, will this dog be trained?
Quackers
(2,256 posts)It is considered a psychiatric service dog. I have been diagnosed with PTSD, severe anxiety, and major depressive disorder. In addition, I have hypertension, AFIB, tachycardia, and had a PE.
The dog will be trained to create a barrier (safe space), between me and others when outside our home. He will be trained to recognize and wake me from the nightmares associated with PTSD and episodes of PTSD. While awake. He will be trained to redirect/help prevent self harm. I am a bad cutter. I don't like telling all of my personal info but as I've said before, I want to be transparent about this. If you go to my link, you can read more about my situation, if you like.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
