Elizabeth Warren fails to endorse Bernie and his fans freak the hell out on her Facebook page:
And rant they did, ripping into the implicit heresy of Warrens failure to endorse Sanders by letting her know in no uncertain terms that they are really really really REALLY disappointed. And worse.
As in:
Your unwillingness to endorse Bernie prior to Super Tuesday indicates to me that your fear of pressure from Hillary friends on Capitol Hill trumps your commitment to the progressive cause. I have lost faith in you and the DNC.
Elizabeth is there ANY reason on Gods green earth that youre sitting quiet in the corner while Bernie is awaiting your endorsement? Am I missing something here???
Is she really part of the establishment? How can she, as a representative of the people, as a self proclaimed progressive, not publicly endorse Bernie Sanders? Do you think she owes Clinton some political favors? hmmmm.
With every day that passes without your endorsement of Sanders, Wall Street rejoices, and the corporate owned Hillary Clinton is validated. Shame on you.
Sen Warren let all of the progressives down and the country by not endorsing us before Super Tuesday. With her help, we could have and should have won Mass. Why and what does she have up her sleeve???
Karl Roves money? Are you smoking crack? I love Elizabeth and would have supported her over Bernie had she chose to run, but I am deeply disappointed in her for not supporting Bernie when it mattered. She will lose ALL credibility if she supports Hillary at any point as Shillary is tied to Wall Street.
You have let all progressives down. Sanders can still win, but if he doesnt thats on you. And when Trump defeats Clinton that will be on you too. Youre a sellout. Your endorsement will not save Clinton and we will not vote for her. Its worthless now.
Warren is a wuss. Her silence will not be forgotten.
Senator Warren: I will no longer support or contribute to you or your campaigns. I think it unconscionable that you can continue to condone the corruption in Washington by NOT endorsing Bernie Sanders. I am actually shocked that you would leave a fellow progressive twisting in the wind, as the Clinton Circus rolls into your state and cheats her way to a very narrow win. Youve made it very clear: youre only interested in your political career, not showing solidarity to the people promoting the important causes that you apparently only pay lip service to.#FeelTheBern
I sincerely hope that another progressive runs against Warren so that she can be voted out of office as a reward for her cowardice. I understand Warren is in a difficult position, but this is a time for courage.

I deal in reality...this story is highly suspect.
saturnsring
(1,832 posts)better - turn out is low because it is a primary and many dems would be happy with either candidate. this story may or may not be true but it wouldn't be the first time the Bernie supporters attacked another democrat
haikugal
(6,476 posts)Why can't we have a clean, fair primary? Hell the Clintons don't even honor the election laws. They have complete disregard for the voters other than what the voters can do for them.

(26,060 posts)thread title says? Under the bus. What are you talking about?
HassleCat
(6,409 posts)To throw someone under the bus, you have to be on the bus with that person in the first place. The phrase means you are back-stabbing someone who was a loyal friend, a trusted associate, etc. When a department head blames a subordinate for a management failure, the subordinate is being thrown under the bus. If Bernie Sanders rebuked Elizabeth Warren for not being progressive, or not supporting hum, that might be an instance of "under the bus." But even that would be a stretch, because Sanders and Warren are congressional colleagues, not running mates or something such as that. If Warren were a big Sanders supporter, involved with his campaign, etc. then she could be thrown under the bus by Sanders. A bunch of tweets from people claiming to be Sanders supporters does not relate to "under the bus" in any way.
leftynyc
(26,060 posts)Elizabeth Warren has been (rightly) embraced by liberals (despite being a former republican) but this isn't the first time I've seen the supporters of Sen Sanders go after her for not endorsing him. It's just the latest example. All these supposed liberals were on the bus with Sen Warren - until recently.
HassleCat
(6,409 posts)In no way are they driving the bus. They're just passengers. Of course they are not "the supporters" of Sanders. They are "some supporters" or "a few supporters." They are a handful of people who are much too excitable. If they're even real.
haikugal
(6,476 posts)Bernie supporters are 100% behind Warren unlike the head of the DNC. Who's throwing Warren under the bus? Not us...FAIL!!!

The civil rights icons received criticism for making rediculous statements that cast aspersions on Sanders civil rights chops. That was extremely disturbing and sad.

(55,745 posts)I support Bernie and Elizabeth Warren. I even support Hillary Clinton.
Why do you want to make it out I'm for throwing Warren under the bus?
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)just liberals and Democrats who want stronger, more leftward change than Hillary offers. For them buses are for riding, they don't throw anyone under them.
But, as our farthest left candidate, Bernie is also attracting some from the far left with extremist tendencies, and reportedly a few from the far right he's been courting. You surely must see how easily any reverse causes them to burst into flame and look for someone to attack.
Not only is this believable, but many similar aggressive behaviors have occurred before, making this actually entirely predictable. Again, they are small in numbers, but we know a lot about them here because DU's become a gathering place for some of them. It may be well be study site for professional observers.
haikugal
(6,476 posts)This is another attack on 'those radical Bernie supporters' who aren't real Democrats. We Bernie supporters have been attacked for damned near everything you can think of. It's a Brock operation to discredit Bernie that has nothing to do with his proposals or policy. It's dirty.

(26,060 posts)and the no true scottsman fallacy. I don't like far left purists any more than I like far right ones. They're unreasonable, reactionary, and far too willing to trash ANYONE who doesn't believe the same way they do. And now with the conspiracy theories. It's fucking madness.

I have just assumed this was happening in large numbers as reported on a few minor sites without checking myself. This activity is occurring, but you're right in that reporting of the volume could be greatly inflated for partisan reasons. I'll wait as I should have in the first place.

She was the one who really excited so many of us in the first place.
She may have a preference between two acceptable candidates, but the race that must be won is against the GOP, and if I were her all my strategies would be formulated to give our nominee the best chance possible there. My assumption is she is husbanding her stature and ability to affect the GE.
