Trump: The Rise of Self Defense Militias?

March 14, 2016 (San Diego) The Trump movement just took another ominous step. The events in Chicago, including the cancellation of the rally by Donald J Trump, came with violence. No, the police did not cancel it due to security concerns. In a normal political environment the violence would draw people away from the movement. Instead Trumpism continues to gather force.

According to the Washington Post: “But now we know. Trump can say or do pretty much anything, and he won’t pay a political price. He can literally joke about murdering his supporters, and his supporters won’t go anywhere. And, it seems, he can tacitly endorse violence against protesters at his rallies, and hardly anyone even blinks.”

We knew this, without the survey from a university, becuase the movement is going down a very clear path that has been used by demagogues and strong men in the past. What Trump is exhibiting is a classic fascist tendency, where he is using violence and creating the other to propel him to office.

You will love it, I guarantee it... not in a good way. We are well beyond the rabbit hole now.

has been fascism for a few years... just not the classic form you know. We have been moving towards this moment for a decade or more, and it accelerated after 911...

When the balance of power goes one way with corporations, then you will have a viable fascism.

the debates leading up to Revolution and the BOR. There was no sure-shot guarantee for avoiding or defeating those threats, but arming for self-defense was seen as an absolute necessity for the Citizen.

The Sturmabteilung (SA; German pronunciation: [ˈʃtʊɐ̯mʔapˌtaɪlʊŋ] ( listen); literally "Storm Detachment&quot functioned as the original paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party. It played a significant role in Adolf Hitler's rise to power in the 1920s and 1930s.

And no, the founders did not consider this as part of rights.

I know you are a strict pro 2A defender, and you fear confiscation and likely (my apologies if you do not) believe that lie about Nazi Germany and confiscation, but the US has been toying with fascism for at least a generation, and it accelerated after 911. The form until know, has been familiar to those familiar with Dictablandas. Now it is starting to take on forms that should be familiar, even to you.

Oh and you can have all the small arms arsenal you want, good luck with the US Army.

...but rather the government's call for such is the best indicator that fascism is formally coalescing. I don't expect such an effort would be successful, btw.

You are correct that the country has been diddling with fascism for the last generation or so (you may be interested in BuschCo's efforts to suspend/erase the Posse Comitatus Act in the immediate wake of Katrina.). But for now, the chief problem we face with out collapsing system of governance is the lack of coherent, effective, or even identifiable opposition to any corporatst or corporatist-demagogue that happens along. (That is the chief reason I back Sanders: He could be the last train out.)The problem is closer to home.

History is littered with the overthrow of heavily-armed regimes when faced with determined groups and their small arms. The U.S. should know, having backed so many of the former.

Fascist rhetoric by the day. He now has zero fear of push back from any News or Media and in fact is being reinforced by the Media.

As mentioned many times, this sucker is the New Day George Wallace, watch his body Language and many of his speech inflections as well as his speech patterns, and always tight angle TV shots with four US flags staged at rest behind him. Optics and Sound bites,Baby.
