... Bundy signed away his right to counsel at a hearing Friday in U.S. District Court in Portland.

He will be aided by standby counsel. Bundy has been jailed in Portland for his role in a 41-day occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

U.S. District Court Judge Anna Brown repeatedly told Bundy that the risks were high and that he didn’t have the legal knowledge to fully defend himself.

“I need to be heard; my voice needs to be heard,” Ryan Bundy responded when asked why he wanted to represent himself ...

I keep getting reminded of the Law And Order episode where a group of far-right "patriots" who robbed an armored truck and killed a guard kept interrupting the court by yelling the Declaration Of Independence and Constitution.

10. Judge Brown brooks very little nonsense

If Ryan Bundy hasn't figured that out by now, he's even stupider than I think he is, and I haven't even thought about how stupid I think he is. I don't think she'd resort to binding and gagging him (a la Judge Hoffman in the Chicago 8 case before it became the Chicago 7 case), but Ryan won't get too many opportunities to misbehave in open court.
