In memory of Bartcop
March 5th marked the second anniversary of Bartcop's passing. With all of the distractions I almost let the month go by without a word of thanks to this man who did so much to kept us sane during the * years. A guy who used the Internet to hit back in a world where voices were silenced. I wonder what his words of wisdom would be today? We'll raise a glass for you tonight friend.....better late than never! Peace and love to all who miss Bart.

18. Bartcop knew his BFEE
Last edited Mon Mar 21, 2016, 01:56 PM - Edit history (1) BFEE Scorecard
Bartcop coined the term "Bush Family Evil Empire" to denote the 60-year pre-eminence of one family in the formation of the political philosophy in the United States, that of the War Party. The first to do so to my knowledge on the World Wide Web, Bartcop chronicled their ascension to the top of the national security state by hook and by crook. At least three generations have held high national office, while also making big money off war and looting the public Treasury. The last president of the United States, a man who wasn't elected fair and square by any stretch of the imagination, actually said: "Money trumps peace" at a press conference. For some reason, not a single "journalist" had the guts to ask him what he meant by that. Bartcop did. And We and Democracy are better for it. |

48. Bart was the man!
Long time lurker first time commenter because Bart was a first read for me daily. I discovered Bartcop during the media bombast in the run up to the Iraq invasion. I remember thinking there must be others like me who see this utter fiasco for what it was, and I found a kindred spirit. Bart had a way of swinging the hammer that left no doubt and took no prisoners, his voice is dearly missed. He was a pioneer in political blogging, it was thru Bartcop that I discovered almost every progressive site that i read daily including this one. I can only imagine the joy he would find in seeing Trump sailing thru the primaries headed for the nomination. He would see Trump as the just desserts for a political party that has gone berserk. I rarely disagreed with him on context, but he could swing that hammer mighty hard sometimes.
A shot to Bartcop! Keep swinging that hammer |
