ITW: 7 TOP DESTINATIONS FOR EX-PATS (IF TRUMP WINS)

Your helpful, timely and Handy Guide to get you thinking about your options!

With the Donald stressing out the rational citizens of the USA with the possibility of becoming President, maybe it’s time to explore your options for residency elsewhere around the planet. Imagine living in a place not ruled by a psychotic shape shifter! And no, North Korea isn’t on this list, and we can now sincerely appreciate the complete polar opposite in Uraguayan President, Jose Mujica.

Let’s have a look, shall we? The list includes of course, Canada, Ireland and Singapore, and a few other, lol. Brilliant.

1. Singapore is expensive as hell but a great place

I have been there many times on business and in my experiences, it is a great place and it has a large ex-pat community.

6. Singapore seems terribly crowded. Austria is appealing except that it has, well, Austrians.

Nice enough people, but dry and humorless, rather like Belgians.

New Zealand is sooo appealing, that's at the top of my list except for the whole 'ring of fire' and it's inevitable doomsday destruction due to earthquakes.

I LOVE mexico, it's one of my all time favorite destinations on the planet. I would totally live in the Yucatan, except that well, I don't really like the heat. I look better with clothes on.

2. I can't go anywhere so seeing the

exit strategies isn't helping people who are stuck. But you all think you're clever I'm sure. That's right. I'm not laughing.

4. Well, Brad said it best in WWZ; 'if you stay, you die'. Ok so that's a bit dramatic for this

scenario.

Maybe the thing to think about is how to protect yourselves ITW... I wonder what the options could be....

3. "Cape Breton Island, the Canadian spot which begs Americans to move there in the event of a Trump

win, said that “Muslim people can roam freely,” and “nobody has a hand gun.””Hi Americans! Donald Trump may become the President of your country! If that happens, and you decide to get the hell out of there, might I suggest moving to Cape Breton Island,” the site reads. “We need people. We need you!” It’s a lovely island, with a very pastoral way of life. Perfect for those who enjoy the sea, winters, nature, outstanding education and being close to the USA, and quite safe from zombies."

Sounds like hell-on-earth to a republican, “Muslim people can roam freely,” and “nobody has a hand gun” so it might be a republican-free zone, as well.

Most of us aren't going anywhere but it is a cool list. Thanks for posting it.

8. It seems to be expensive to live there...

my neighbor recently met someone from there and was advised to do her homework before considering such a move. Especially for people who now have access to everything within a few miles from home.

I guess it all depends on the kind of lifestyle you wish to live.

10. Australia and NZ are very, very difficult to move to for work's sake. Much like Canada, you

have to be invited, technically speaking, or offer specific skills within desirable sectors, and apply far in advance, unless you have some sort of residential priority.

Philippines is much easier, I believe. Thailand is supposed to be amazing. It depends on how you can support yourself in any case, I suppose.

11. My wife is an electrical engineer with tons of experience in construction in Asia.

She can go almost anywhere there are large scale construction projects. Of course its temporary based on the length of the project.

Im a software engineer and I plan to do consulting wherever we end up.

Yes, Thailand would be another good option.

9. Let me expand that to, "If ANY Republican wins..."

I already have my plans laid out... And, I'm not saying because it's MINE!

A very deep hard rock mine. Well ventilated with filtered air.
