The entire international media will now be focused on Brussels.

(5,792 posts)But we have an election going on to pick our nominee for President. It is the new President that will deal with this type of terrorism. So it is vitally important that it not get shoved by the way side so that things that are underhanded can occur.

(10,164 posts)Not so much in the long term. But that's how the news media works: big, flashy, and (preferably) bloody rules the roost.
Obama's Cuba visit is momentous...but the media was already more focused on the latest blithering outbursts from the vulgar talking yam.

This has caused defensive moves in several other countries, the EU headquarters in Brussels is locked down, and at least 34 people are dead with over 100 injured.
If this type of attack occurred on US soil it would be THE news item, and that is justified.
