2. A movement must start at the grass roots.

Progressives must be elected at the state and federal level in large enough numbers to comprise a significant coalition. Then a leader can arise to lead that coalition into battle.

Putting the cart in front of the horse by nominating a 74 year old leader before the heavy lifting of a grass roots legislative coalition has been established is a very immature and lazy approach IMO.

money or prestige or something. My attitude is you don't have to play in the party pool you just have to represent my views of what a democrat is.
