"The warning signs have been there for years. As co-chair of the "Red to Blue" campaign to help increase Democratic seats in the House, she refused to support the Democrats running against three potentially vulnerable Florida Republicans - Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Mario Diaz-Balart - because of her friendship with those Republicans".

I'm really wondering when folks will wake up to the fact that these leaders of our party do not represent the average American, Black or White or any flavor, anymore. It is increasingly just so shockingly obvious.

If we don't wake up, and come together around someone with a plan to fix this, we are really going to be drowning, each and every one of us, from the most unfortunate all the way through the middle class.

They are Corporatacrats. They work for the corporations and the elites. They do not work for us, even when they pretend to.

Oh, they may throw a crumb from time to time. That's another thing they will do, to keep us believing and hooked.

But,
Who is going to fight Climate Change, like the end of the world scenario it is quickly becoming?
Who is going to really fight for some kind of economic prosperity for all Americans, not just the few?
Who is going to keep us from our usual interventionist ways in too much war?
Who is really going to be steadfast in fighting racial injustice?

I know my answer, and I remain confident (through his actions and words over so many years) that he will remain true to all these causes.

the job she is doing.

As for her work as a representative, that will be the decision of the people in her district--not people who don't live in her district.

Challenger notwithstanding, I think she'll win handily. Her constituent services are pretty good.

Joe Biden has been stumping for Alan Grayson's opponent down in FL, too. I wonder if he'll find time to help her raise a few bucks?

Why would Obama want to talk to you? Or any of the people in the big Dem tent who have been calling him names for the last eight years? He knows his own mind. All the people he likes, you want to toss out. There's nothing, really, to discuss.

http://www.politico.com/story/2011/04/wasserman-schultz-to-lead-dnc-052605

President Barack Obama has chosen Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz as the incoming chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, the party announced late Tuesday.
Wasserman Schultz, 44, was chosen for her strength as a fundraiser and as a television messenger and for her clout in the crucial swing state of Florida, the sources said.
Story Continued Below
She will succeed Tim Kaine, who announced earlier Tuesday that he will run for U.S. Senate from Virginia.
The committee announced the choice in an email to members from Vice President Joe Biden.
“In selecting Debbie to lead our party, President Obama noted her tenacity, her strength, her fighting spirit and her ability to overcome adversity,” Biden wrote.

I have pretty much always liked Obama - he's made some decisions that pissed me off, that I criticized him for, but I never really disliked him. This though, strikes me as beyond out of touch, I think it's entirely possible that he's simply thumbing his nose at those of us who are really angry with what Dear Sweet Debbie has been up to. In other words, he's giving us the finger.

While I do like Obama... his associations with the likes of Tim Geithner, Arne Duncan, Rahm Emanuel and others... has, at times, made me think to myself... WTF? It should be considered that his endorsement of DWS is not a sort of behavior that is uncommon for him, nor has he actually proven tough on corporate or Wall Street corruption, financial regulation - and so on and so forth. I voted for Obama because he denounced the Iraq war from the start, because I thought he had some great ideas about getting health insurance for everyone. There were a lot of questions though, that were never really answered - and a lot of campaign promises that I pretty much knew were just fluff.

I can't say I'm terribly shocked by this. I was shocked when Howard Dean had some pretty interesting things to say about unions... I was shocked when I learned what his current line of work is and what his current affiliations are - I always thought he was different, a kind of progressive champion. To be proven wrong on that one was really disappointing. Obama though? Not so shocked, we have example after example of some very questionable political appointments... and in the case of DWS and even Obama... they are not of the 99%. They will retire with everything they ever wanted or dreamed of. Millions of dollars for themselves and their descendants. Some of the greatest benefits available anywhere on earth - with lots and lots of awesome, easy, cushy job prospects going forward.

They do not live in the same world as most of the rest of us - not even remotely.

Should we all walk lockstep, criticism is what makes things better.

I did block one that was going off on this, have seen many other remarks from her and the hateful way she speaks about Bernie is too much. Don't like, don't agree with him but don't be hateful like the repubs are.
