Karl Marx is more relevant now than ever before

Seriously

Read Capital

Read the Communist Manifesto

Don't read them as plans for a new state

Read them as critiques of capitalism

And you will see where we are

1. Oh sure, throwing around Marx's name will REALLY garner support from the American people.

The best thing to do right now is step back and let the conservatives shred the nation the pieces. Do what you need to do to protect yourself and your family and lay low.

No wonder conservatives keep winning votes here. Why would we let these douches shred the nation to pieces because some people are made nervous by an old guy with a beard who thought workers should make more money? That doesn't make sense.

Class Consciousness doesn't come in on a cloud. Anywhoo, my point was that it would be silly to isolate ourselves and let the fascists take over. There have been closer shaves in this country with the extreme right wing. This is a disappointing set-back, but Marx himself would have been in the thick of things, looking for avenues of struggle.

And by letting the "conservatives shred the nation....." is a serious option to you? Read Marx.

6. Doesn't Marx say Communism will emerge from the inevitable corruption of Capitalism?

It's something that has never occurred before.
The past Communist societies were created from non Capitalist societies which doesn't fit this theory.

"Corruption at Elections"

The bribery and intimidation practised by the Tories were, then, merely violent experiments for bringing back to life dying electoral bodies which have become incapable of production, and which can no longer create decisive electoral results and really national Parliaments. And the result? The old Parliament was dissolved, because at the end of its career it had dissolved into sections which brought each other to a complete stand-still. The new Parliament begins where the old one ended; it is paralytic from the hour of its birth.

that it was the influence of Marx, and the presence, at least, of an altertnative system being pushed elsewhere in the world, that made our country react in such a way as to produce a great era of economic fairness, for which even those on the right are nostalgic, the mention of his name would not be some sort of Shibboleth today.

That his name would be sullied.

That said Marx's stuff was great as a critique, his ideal system and ideology however are entirely impossible, and I think even most fairly hard socialist accept that.

12. Marx had a lot of good ideas

Some ideas were not workable, however

But abolishing the markets, hell YEAH!

Now, more than ever, should we start realizing CAPITALISM is the enemy.
