... but the Obama campaign didn't want to see that.

If Barrett had won, the Democrats would surely be crowing that the corner on reactionary Repuglican politics had been turned and the country was heading back to a more centrist attitude -- Wisconsin's electoral votes would have been proclaimed a lock for Obama.

If Barrett had won, DU would have been ecstatic with predictions of an historic Obama victory in November.

Yup ... referendum on Obama ... one way or another it was always going to be spun that way.
