The Amendment:

It shall not be an infringement of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution for legislatures to limit by law the raising and expenditure of money in public elections.

But if you buy radio and TV ads to promote the link, that's could very well be subject to regulation.

Is passing out campaign materials within 200 feet of a polling place a violation of the 1A? Somehow we made peace with that particular concept of a quiet zone long ago without feeling too suppressed.

Radio and TV are already regulated, as is commercial advertising. But what about money from the sales of the book?

to purchase bulk quantities of some unflattering book about the opponent?

Why should the 1A protect that?

Regulate it. Strictly.
