Key Democratic players are worried that Hillary Clinton ally David Brock could be hurting her image and hampering her chances of winning the presidency.
In interviews over the past month, Clinton donors, fundraisers and operatives have told The Hill that the concerns about Brocks comments, particularly some of his attacks on Bernie Sanders, stretch all the way to the top of Clintons political machinery.
A leading figure in the Democracy Alliance, the liberal equivalent of the conservative Koch brothers donor network, said donors he associates with would like to put Brock back in the can.
I have heard people express concern that what he does could be harmful generally to the campaign, the donor said.
Longtime Clinton fundraiser Bill Brandt, an Illinois-based businessman and personal friend of Bill Clinton, said of Brock, David is well meaning but I think perhaps like a zealot. He should keep it in check a bit. I dont think this needs to be about tearing Bernie down.
Its getting nasty and it doesnt need to be.

Hillary wanted to win so badly, she adopted GOP tactics (even more extreme than 2008) and hired a GOP hit man.
It didn't work out so well last time, so her brilliant plan was to double down?

(8,175 posts)I don't believe she thinks she can win without someone like him balancing the playing field for her.
She really does not seem to understand how bad this is for her. And has been since the beginning.

(17,505 posts)Oh man. "Blinded by the Right" was a thing to behold. It was great...but you kept asking yourself after about page 7 "David, dear, why would you have expected otherwise?" Rang true tho'.... even if it was disingenuous revenge.

(14,459 posts)A little late though- I think someone did the numbers and realized that alienating 50%+ of the party is going to be a bad thing for the GE.

(25,699 posts)he tore down Anita Bryant. he tore down other democrats for a living. So Clinton hooked up with him for his tear-down expertise.
It's not rocket science.

(2,262 posts)bonehead decision she has made. It's a habit with her. When she comes to the fork in the road, she chooses the wrong route every single time. It's like clockwork with her. I just can't empathize with someone who walks right in to the rock wall every time. There is no learning experience with someone like her.

(13,776 posts)She doesn't make good choices. I liked Hillary just fine before the primary. Now, if she's the nominee, I will vote for her, but kind of like how you handle a dirty diaper. You know it has to be done, and you love the kid, but ew.
And I don't think it's her fault. It's her horrible, horrible campaign. I do empathize with her because she lived so long in Bill's narcissistic shadow; this should finally be her time to shine and she sees the respect and admiration slipping away because of her lousy choice of advisers. And sure, also some personal weakness (hint: do not lose your cool with a Greenpeace activist unnecessarily, and do not ask a reporter whether he meant did you wipe the servers with a cloth). Still, if she's the nominee and people hate Cruz as much as we hear they do, it'll be nice to have the first female President. I wish it had been Elizabeth Warren, but there's still hope for that someday.

(10,270 posts)If Hillary Clinton is the Democratic Party nominee, I will vote for her in the general.
If after her first 3 years in office she hasn't
A) gotten a Blue Congress elected
B) gotten (or allowed) that Blue Congress to pass Publicly-funded Elections
I WILL NOT SUPPORT HER RE-ELECTION. She can get primaried, say 'I was the first female President' and then we can all elect someone who cares more about the job than the Job TITLE.
After the RIDICULOUSLY INCOMPETENT job that DWS has done as Party Chair and the relative success and actual popular and financial support of and for the Sanders campaign, I don't thing those 2 things are too much to fucking ask.
If she does, then there WILL be a problem. I WILL NOT agree to disagree any longer. If she can't do the job we elect her to do, then we can find SOMEONE ELSE WHO WILL.

(23,664 posts)Now she's stuck with the consequences. There's nothing she can do about Brock, he knows where the bodies are buried, and she knows he'd sing like a canary if the price was right (or if he needed to keep his own ass out of jail).
Hell Hath No Fury
(16,327 posts)always a ratfucker. (As noted in my sig line.)
What she didn't learn in 2008 is that it is a turnoff to voters, especially Democratic voters. I was sickened by some of what her campaign was involved with against O. Brock really went down the shit path with the whole "Bernie was demeaning to his wife" bullshit he pulled. It was nauseating and it only succeeded in backfiring on him/her.
