This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by BooScout (a host of the General Discussion forum).
Every other damned post is about he said/she said or their factions having done this or that and we're all the worse for all of it.
Jeebus, we're all Democrats (large D), I hope, and at some point have to come together - and I get that it won't happen for a while. However, can't this picayune bullshit be relegated elsewhere? Scrolling through 2 pages of "whaaaa" this and "whaaaa" that on the Latest Threads tab has become the worst....the absolute worst.
Skinner, Elad, et al - isn't there a better way for this? DU is becoming unreadable for the tit-for-tat garbage that's going on and honestly, it ain't fun to try to discover, learn, and read anything here that's not a blast toward either candidate, What happened to the smart, intelligent discourse we used to have. Help?!

(11,065 posts)I have GD bookmarked, so it's how I get into DU. Then I just go into whatever other forums or groups I'm interested in at the time.
I never could figure out why most everyone else navigated around by the Latest or Greatest portals. That's a good way to get blocked from a protected group since apparently there's no easy way to tell if the thread you're in is in a protected group if you get there through Latest or Greatest portals. It's also how you miss out on really good reads.
In their infinite wisdom, the Admins rigged up the site so that there are all kinds of ways to navigate and tailor what you see or don't see.

Write in "Needs to be in GD-P" gets them locked every time.

(56,177 posts)Gave up because that doesn't help. Sometimes the mods will eventually lock them, but it seems like we're short of mods these days because posts will stay most of the day until locked.

(19,091 posts)I am not seeing nearly as much garbage in Latest Threads as I used to. Sure, they sneak some into the other forums, but not nearly at the same rate.
You could also try "trash by keyword" with "Bern" and "Hillary" and you'd be amazed at how cleaned up the place would look.

(2,720 posts)It's the cabal of left wing extremists who started abusing the jury system to blatantly censor any pro-Hillary post whatsoever. There are so many of them, they're able to post complete over the top garbage and survive juries who don't have an ounce of honor about what the jury system was intended for.
Of course, you know who I'm talking about, don't you?

Just like how left wing extremists try to pretend that Hillary is a Republican.

(2,720 posts)And by and large, Democrats aren't big fans of Che, while many of the people who congregate here seem to be.
Nor are we mad at the party, like far too many radical leftists who congregate here seem to be. Otherwise we wouldn't be Democrats.

(45,851 posts)It was even an inadvertent post, I clicked on a link in a post in GD-P and didn't happen to catch that it took me to the HRC group, put the
emoji and nothing else.
The only reason the Hillary supporters haven't acted just like the Sanders supporters is because they are a distinct minority here and they don't have the numbers, don't pretend to some sort of ethical superiority of one side over the other.
A number of the names I recognize as immature posters were infamous for getting time outs a long time before this primary began so the primary has nothing to do with it in those cases and now they are back doing the same things that earned them multiple time outs in the past.

(5,252 posts)Seems after Obama defeated Clinton in 2008, the Democratic Party filed for divorce. That was a rough, bitter primary, but this primary seems even more so. The big difference being, Sanders joined the Democratic Party but the Democratic Party has rejected him. Not a good sign for the Party as people continue to leave and young voters have been alienated.

(2,491 posts)In 2012, the (D) nominee was already in place, so we all got to gang up on the (R)nominee.
Normally, the separate and distinct wings of the Democratic party co-exist peacefully here, because people will either avoid confronting a post they disagree with, or they will disagree with it in an informative, civil, well though-out manner. When an intruder signs up to spout (R) talking points, they are easily spotted and eventually dispatched.
During an election cycle (2004, 2008) where there are multiple Democrats in opposition, not only does it incite those generally on the same side to oppose each other passionately, it allows (R) trolls to fly under the radar by attacking one candidate, hiding under the flag of being for the other.
I guess my point is that I've seen this before and it is temporary.
