but it seems that the party bosses weren't working very hard to retain them, even if they'd been massively effective rather than just effective. I suppose they wanted a huge demographic shift and they wanted it right now and no one could deliver, not even four very bright, very committed people who did their best.

I do think it will be read very clearly by the few black Republicans out there, that they left as soon as they came up with alternative employment and the RNC held the door for all of them.
