Should I boycott Mississippi?

We are driving from Texas to the Georgia coast and wanted to spend some time in the Delta looking for Robert Johnson's ghost.

Just drive straight through without even stopping for gas?

Personally I would change my plans. There are times when one simply can't throw ones principles to the wind in the name of having fun. But that's just me and I will not judge others for what they do.

And I'm not anti the South. I lived in North Carolina for a few years and remember it as a beautiful State.

Also, not to be missed, imo. Stay out of the Tunica resorts and keep Hwy 61 on the itinerary.

Miss. has a very interesting vibe.
Not to mention the value of seeing the Miss. river.
Don't know which section of the state you are going to cross, Interstate 20 is the middle of the state, via Vicksburg/Jackson/Meridian route, which is the delta area.

Clarksdale, Mississippi: Devil's Crossroads

Interstate 10 will take you along the coastal route, and you will only see the Biloxi area, now crowded with casino boats.

Biloxi used to be lovely, before the casinos increased traffic so much.

I just can't imagine driving right past all that stuff and not spending some time there. Boycotting Mississippi is like Boycotting a Haiti I think.
