I was and am a Obama supporter he is the best President that we have had in my lifetime.. bar none...
Lots of garbage thrown at him and his supporters the last 7 years.. I thought maybe it was situational..
Now I am having second thoughts.. this is more about bashing the Democratic Party than anything else at this point.
I was probably the first O'Malley supporter on DU who came out for him to run.. and let me tell you.. every time I posted something positive about the Governor.. there would be these nasty anti O'Malley posts.. par for the course
Then the whole thing about Biden maybe running.. interestingly enough.. many of the said same O'Malley opposition were up in arms about Biden.. off the hook
Now when Hillary first started running again in Iowa.. I commented on how much she had improved her ground game here (Iowa).. now remember I was an O'Malley supporter.. and just saying her ground game had improved.. brought out said same negativity by many of the said same posters.
Now its all the same right wing stuff to be used against Hillary if she gets the nod..being spewed.. just like Obama, Biden and O'Malley..
You know what, there are some passionate people here who support Sanders.. more power too them..
But what I seem more than anything is a seething hatred of the Democratic Party..
Interesting to say the least..

(708 posts)Well in my opinion, when you start digging a little bit, you find out a whole lot of truth and it is concerning.
I still support President Obama but I think he is working for multiple interests.
And I can see how it has aged him.

(24,288 posts)in my lifetime was Reagan.. the picture of Dorian Gray for sure with that guy.. and I do not know your age .. this is just off the cuff.. if anyone ever tells you that the 80's were great.. they weren't.. they were bloody awful

(10,164 posts)...is its decades-long move to the right. The party abandoned me...not the other way around.

(3,075 posts)you do realize Hillary and Bill threw a lot of Garbage at him, right?
I seriously think my turning point in 2008 was "shame on you, Barack Obama, shame on you"... I'm a Buckeye and this was in my state; I was at an Obama rally where he was very positive, and said not one nasty word about her....

(24,288 posts)You do not get any argument out of me on that one..but she put party ahead of personal gain in the end and worked for the administration.. I give her lots of creds for that..

(14,255 posts)I don't think there was anything noble about what she did, it was just helping her gain what she wants.

(24,288 posts)So that is why I have come to the conclusion that for a certain segment it is more about attacking the Democratic Party..

(17,377 posts)It's what we all do.
What is really going on though is a rejection of the neoliberal wing that has taken over the party, and rejection of status quo, same old same old, more of the same. It has nothing to do with right wing propaganda. If you think so, it's because its what you want to think ... and it's short-sighted thinking.
"Seething hatred of the Democratic Party" ... to me, that sounds like something someone who knows seething hatred personally might say.

(14,255 posts)the Democratic Party any more.
Sorry, but how did we come to this - presenting a candidate who is FOR war, who is FOR fracking, who is FOR the ruinous "trade" agreements, who is FOR increasing H-1B visas, and the list goes on.
Those are not things that should be advocated by the Democratic Party. I do not follow the "D" blindly. I cannot countenance, I cannot support, I cannot vote for more war, more fracking, more bad trade agreements.
That is what is happening. Quite frankly, if Hillary represents the Democratic Party, if Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (who supports her GOP cronies down here in Florida, will not support liberals, and votes for things like criminal charges for medical marijuana and favors to payday lenders) - if the people who champion war and fracking and payday lenders, etc. are the face of the Democratic Party, then I cannot support the Democratic Party.
It is so much more than just kow-towing to the "D". Been a Democrat all my life, saw JFK speak when I was a kid, my dad was always a Democrat. My dad would be disgusted at what the party has become.

(24,288 posts)and the O'Malley camp is pretty split.. they are supporting their candidate of choice out of principal.. and I totally respect that..
But yep.. there is ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS.. a contingent from the various right wing sites who like to come in and see how much they can stir up..I am convinced of that myself..
And then there are those who just have a burr under their saddle 24/7..

(27,787 posts)They were complaining about Clinton when Gore was running.
They do nothing but complain.
That, and pray for saviors to arise out of thin air.

(24,288 posts)I mean that just goes without saying..
I know I left for a couple of years just because .. sigh.. it just got old.. the savior thing just drives me crazy..because no one can live up to that.. they just can't..
