The Arctic Turns Ugly (popularresistance)

"The Arctic is absorbing a lot more solar energy, and by itself at a much greater rate, than anywhere else on the planet. In fact, on average, in the last number of decades, the Arctic temperature has risen 1.0C per decade whereas the global average temperature rise has been about 0.15C per decade. So that ratio is 6 or 7 times more." -snip

The more the ice melts, the less reflective it is. It's called albedo. It is one of those positive feedback mechanisms where the more the ice melts means that the more the ice melts. Don't get me started about Arctic methane, a huge global warming gas and yet another positive feedback.

But global climate change is a conspiracy!!!!

Vote Democratic this year or your progeny may be doomed, utterly doomed.

environmental laws are worthless if Corporations can have loopholes integrated into the law for them, that way they still get their pound of flesh (oil extraction, mining, "grandfathering" of obsolete, environmentally destructive practices, other exemptions). so far all of the "environmental protection" laws that the US has passed has this problem, the problem extends much deeper than political party or denial of some people. a dem in the WH wont help the situation if he/she is willing to rubberstamp a sweetheart deal to help a few cronies.

With both Houses of Congress in GOP hands, which is almost inevitable if the GOP wins the White House. Then add the fact that the GOP also has a vast majority of the governorships and the state houses.

So how's that all working out for you and Third Way, Clinton politics?

Not so much, I take it.

Maybe one ought to look for a new way.

Vote Bernie Sanders!

Look at any of the Arctic ice maps and one will see that the Siberian coast is almost ice free due to global warming of the ocean. Russia is happy with that as it's northern coast will be ice free year round eventually.
