Documents from the leaked Mossack Fonseca database showed the relations of three of the seven members of the Communist partys elite ruling council, the politburo standing committee, had companies that were clients of the offshore law firm. They included relatives of Chinese president Xi Jinping. The Panama Papers revelations come at a time when Xi Jinping is facing growing resistance to his rule.
The Guardians website appeared to have been partially blocked on Thursday afternoon, with stories including those relating to the Panama Papers inaccessible in mainland China without the use of a virtual private network. The Economist and Time magazine have also been blocked in China in recent weeks after both magazines published prominent articles that were critical of Xi Jinping.

The company - Mossack Fonseca - which created thousands of companies, where people hide wealth, for various reasons, has more offices in China than any other nation. While "relatives" of Xi Jinping were not charged in crimes, it is illegal for citizens to move money overseas to avoid paying taxes in China. Of course, Chinese media dared not mention these crimes; and I suspect Chinese agents are proud of an ability to manipulate the internet and computers in the USA.

And if it isn't these guys, it's one corporation called Delaware North and then few of Romney's clan are in the mix but it's all changing hands in a hurry... and a lot of it is coming from the money laundering operation in Panama.

(15,235 posts)Didn't the first online news articles, quote Xi as saying John Kerry was "naive about the internet?" Later online updates attributed the quote to various Chinese sources.
