I wanted to get DU'ers opinion on this.
First interview. 4 options - let's assume there are 4 candidates. On a Friday.
Which time do you take? Offer a WHY if you'd like.

(101,321 posts)The research, which examined judicial rulings by Israeli judges who presided over parole hearings in criminal cases, found that judges gave more lenient decisions at the start of the day and immediately after a scheduled break in court proceedings such as lunch. Jonathan Levav, associate professor of business at Columbia University, who co-authored the paper, said: "You are anywhere between two and six times as likely to be released if you're one of the first three prisoners considered versus the last three prisoners considered."
The authors of the peer-reviewed paper looked at more than 1,000 rulings made in 2009 by eight judges. They found that the likelihood of a favourable ruling peaked at the beginning of the day, steadily declining over time from a probability of about 65% to nearly zero, before spiking back up to about 65% after a break for a meal or snack.
Levav said the paper had implications for British judgments. He said: "What we're finding here is a basic psychological effect, and there's nothing different between the psychological effect on a British judge and an Israeli one."

I presume you're talking about a job interview, but if this is a question of the interviewers being generally more content when not hungry, I'd pick just after lunch - 1pm, I presume.

(2,550 posts)First is forgettable.
2nd is before lunch, so all the interviewer is thinking about is lunch.
4th is compared to everybody and interviewer is thinking about going home.
3rd is at the most productive point of an interviewers day, after lunch, is also near the end, so you're memorable and also not close enough to 5 so they're not thinking about going home.

(182,826 posts)Second too. Third - tough for me to answer the same questions or to the same people. I do interview well.
I chose 11am. This is within the organization (a move up to the parent organization) and the people interviewing are already familiar with me.

I like prep time -run, good shower, time to get the suit right- and working on my schedule.

I had a boss once that would not hire anyone that applied after noon or on a Thursday or Friday.
