What happens to Cruz' delegates?

Are they free to vote as they choose or do they still belong to him for the first ballot? What's the status of #nevertrump with only Trump and Kasich in the race?

Unless he releases them. Often those that drop out will release their delegates to vote for the presumptive nominee in the name of unity. But hell will freeze over first before that happens with Cruz.
