Hate Donald Trump supporters? You've got a problem.

Should people even stay friends with Trump supporters? After Peter Wehner, another fierce conservative opponent of Trump, argued in the New York Times that friendship should come before political disagreements, Isaac Chotiner criticized Wehner in Slate for this softness: Trump caters to bigotry, which is worth ending a friendship over.

Of course not. People who vote Republican enable the vile policies of the Republican party. I know some people will say 'Oh I have family members who are Republican' or 'I have Republican friends and we just don't talk about politics' but it still doesn't change the fact that they enable the vile policies of the Republican party.

.. to forgive and forget what has happened to this country under the trickle-down, anti-women, anti-minority, arrogant, bullying, rightwing turds?

I'm willing to try, but what steps do I take?

But I can't imagine being close friends with someone who is anti gay marriage, anti-abortion, etc. Acquaintances, sure, but not close friends. What would we have in common? Our values are in opposition.

I just interviewed a former Trump supporter and he had some pretty uncomfortable experiences with his "friends" calling him sub-human and racist.

He's young white Chicago native who grew up in a poor and diverse suburb of Chicago, and certainly helped me check my stereotypes about Trump supporters. Sheds light on why millions of Americans support Trump *and* what might inspire them to move in a different direction (really useful information!)

So.....why did he defect from the Donald, and who did he switch to? I won't ruin the surprise

Sneak peek, referencing an uncomfortable experience with a co-worker: https://www.facebook.com/Reckonings/videos/233194323706278/

If you are a Donald Trump supporter, please unfriend me. Now. You can do it silently; I'm not looking for a fight. Just do it, please. I'm not passing judgement- you're just not the kind of person I want associated with me. We're judged by the company we keep. You and I are so diametrically opposed at our cores, that I don't consider us compatible. Thanks.

Thankfully, I don't add every person I know as a friend on facebook- I only lost one 'friend' (a cousin that I used to like).
