it's amazing. I actually thought there were enough Republicans with brains to beat that xenophobic piece of shit.

In my Googling there were many more posts predicting that there was absolutely no way he could get the nomination. We all underestimated the bizarreness of the times we live in.

and warned of his danger well before September...

by the way, we used the F word to describe this man at RSD, so if he gets elected...

So no, I am not going to take the credit of being the first one, just one of the early ones. Several of us saw this very early, and I will add, some of think he can go all the way. I have also posted that here at the DU in the past/

As long as she makes bunches of predictions, some of them are bound to come true, and she wants credit, because that's really important!!!!

I predicted he'd be out by South Carolina. I thought for sure Kasich would be the nominee. An otherwise stellar history of predicting political races is now forever tarnished

This was not a surprise to the actually politically literate or otherwise individuals who can make broad assessments utilizing things like demographics, history, and ideology.

Who this was a surprise to were the pompous 'wonks' of the world who think limited data sets are eternal entities and that we are at the end of history.

The silliness of "who predicted something first" at DU is really one of more pointless aspects of the web site. Let's all make crazy predictions and some of them will come true. Duh.

I didn't see him as being sincere in his attempt, I've no issue admitting that fact. Now he's their nominee.

11 months, and some really ticked off bigots, racist and isolationist later, here we are.

40. Sounds like the right wingers wet dream..Be afraid.. be very afraid
two and a half years ago I thought we would never see a Republican in charge of anything again after the cluster fuck they made of this country during W's two occupations of the White House.Well, we see what happened, mostly due to the ineptitude of the democrats. I have learned that people are obviously stupid enough to fall for anything, including getting fucked in the ass since 1980 and voting to continue it, sans the lube. The movie Idiocracy comes top mind and, as I look at the people around me,it looks more realistic every day.I weep for the future.
