Why are conservatives upset? Trump is who Republicans really, really want!

Republicans voted for Trump in huge numbers. They want him!

All this hand wringing means that the "establishment" is just not in tune with what the party wants. They thought they were the real Republicans and were so clever in conning the ignorant masses into voting for them. They knew they were tricking people into voting against their own interests and then kept them in the dark by throwing lie after lie at them. So clever to hold onto power by deceit and be free to do whatever they wanted without being beholden to the stupid voters.

Well the scam is paying off. The fools who kept them in power now ARE the power and the clever elite are bing pushed out into the cold. Either they will tow the line the idiot masses throw to them or they will be demoted to outcasts.

Just goes to show what you reap when you hold your power based on falsehoods and chicanery instead of honestly trying to govern.

Let's just hope the Democrats never get this kind of arrogant brain cancer.

He's one of them. Oh they're scared trump will lose but they're not concerned he's a misogynist, racist, narcisstic asshole. They like that about him.

have been since ??? (ideas?) Many call themselves 'conservative' when they are nothing like 'conservative;' definition: 'holding to traditional attitudes and values and cautious about change or innovation.'

Today's so-called conservatives/repupublicans/tea-partiers are radicals, attached to various tangents: religious-right, racist bigots, anti-semitic bigots, anti-arab bigots, anti-muslim bigots, 'aggrieved' whites, a stew of American misery, and the republican party is stuck with them, and is likely not capable of harmonizing the mess into anything remotely productive.

I wish I were wrong.

I think this more highlights the fact that the allegedly "conservative" base doesn't actually like conservatism.

There's a larger group of Americans that are more concerned about watching their jobs get sent overseas than they are about banning abortion.

"All this hand wringing means that the "establishment" is just not in tune with what the party wants."

Every election year the GOP establishment throws a bunch of social issue bones to the rubes to get them to the polls. Once elected, they establishment proceeds to ignore them while hoping they don't notice their role in shipping jobs overseas, importing low-skilled workers for the jobs they haven't shipped overseas, and miring the U.S. military in pointless overseas adventures that hemorrhage the treasury.

Now Trump comes along and blows the whole charade wide open. The establishment is freaking out. They're about to lose their gravy train. But they're not just going to give it away without a fight.
