Trump-loving tow truck driver says God told him to leave disabled Bernie Sanders supporter stranded

(Maybe it's an allegory to the DNC too)

South Carolina tow truck driver said God told him to leave a disabled Bernie Sanders supporter stranded along the interstate.

Cassy McWade was involved in a car crash near Asheville, North Carolina, and her family called their regular mechanic to drive 45 minutes north from his shop to haul her wrecked vehicle back for repairs, reported WHNS-TV.

Ken Shupe, owner of Shupee Max Towing, arrived about an hour later and began hooking McWade’s car up to his truck — until he spotted the Sanders campaign sticker on her bumper and the yard sign placed in her rear window.

“He goes around back and comes back and says, ‘I can’t tow you,'” McWade said. “My first instinct was there must be something wrong with the car, and he says, ‘No, you’re a Bernie supporter.’ And I was like, ‘Wait — really?’ And he says, ‘Yes ma’am,’ and just walks away.”

Hollywood has made billions with portrayal of post-apocalyptic, mostly dystopian, societies. But they're so far over the top that they don't send many people home from the theaters in a total panic.

This is the sort of chit that should do that because, to paraphrase the old saying, truth is scarier than fiction.

A vendor does not have the right to refuse service based on what someone has on a bumper sticker. She can sue and she would most certainly win if she would.

not private businesses. A business can choose not to provide services to anyone they choose, so long as that decision is not based on discrimination against a protected class. And membership or support of a political party or candidate is not protected class.

The driver is an ass, but what he did was perfectly legal.

In general, any business can deny service to anyone for any reason or no reason, provided that it is not among a set of defined prohibited reasons.

"Political opinion" is not a protected category.

Christians sure are some mean people.

I have had to deal with a lot of awful people over the years-even dealt with frickin druggie playboy Scott DesJarlais at one point ( a very short one)-- and I was never less than professional.

This is what Trump supporters are: mean frat boys and good old boys. They don't want to live in nice communities where people care about one another. They want to be cruel to someone, and Trump gives them permission.

He will get his payback one day on the highway, when some Sanders supporter saves his ass, and he realizes he and his make believe god are assholes.

"Love your enemies."

"Love your neighbor as yourself."

"If your neighbor asks for your coat, give him your cloak also."

These are sayings from some other archaic sect of Christianity that has apparently fallen out of fashion and is not practiced today by the fundies.

"Be a complete dick any time you want." Now there's a saying the Trump-supporting Christian can get behind. smh

....

"Something came over me, I think the Lord came to me, and he just said get in the truck and leave," said Ken Shupe of Shupee Max Towing in Traveler's Rest, S.C.. "And when I got in my truck, you know, I was so proud, because I felt like I finally drew a line in the sand and stood up for what I believed."

....

Shupe , who supports presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, said his decision on the side of the interstate this week was more about business than politics.

He believes Bernie Sanders supporters are socialists, and says he's had problems with two customers over the last six months who supported Bernie Sanders. He said they caused him problems over paying their bills.

"I've had some horrible experiences in the last six months with towing cars for this mindset individuals, in that I don't get paid. They want to argue about a $50 tow bill, and it turns into just a drama and a fuss. And I said, you know, I'm not going to associate with them, and I'm not going to do any business with them," Shupe said.

"I'm really not interested in doing business with that clientele," he said of Sanders supporters.

....

Shupe says he did not know that McWade was disabled.

"Had she been disabled, would I have towed her car? No ma'am. I would have pulled forward and sat there with her to make sure she was OK until another wrecker service showed up to get her home safely, but I still would not have towed her car," said Shupe. "I stand by my decision, and I would do it again today if the opportunity presented itself."

Everybody call the idiot and tell him they broke down in some far away rural area. When he finally arrives, no one will be found. We can have him chasing ghosts from now until doomsday (which he is probably hoping will be soon, especially after this). Just buy a cheap disposable cell phone and discard it when the deed is done. That would be some justice.
