Question about Elizabeth Warren's senate seat?

Let's say that if Elizabeth Warren were to be tapped as the VP candidate, she would leave her seat open and in Massachusetts, which would be filled by the republican governor Charlie Baker. However, if she were to vacate her seat early, would that senate seat be on the ballot in November as well???

And as it looks right now, he has little chance of getting the nomination. Two firsts on a ticket will not happen.

But Warren wouldn't have to resign to run for VP. So in the event that she was a successful VP candidate or named to an administration position, there would be a temporary appointment and then a special election held in 2017 sometime to fill the rest of the term.

After Kerry resigned in February 2013, the special election was held in June 2013.

Having recently heard Joseph Kennedy III recently speak, I think his ascension to the upper chamber is highly likely!
