Has Trump ever taken questions from the general public?

It just occurred to me that in all the time since Trump became a thing, he's been questioned only by the media, whom he has repeatedly dismissed as 'very dishonest'.

What happens in a general debate when he's got to answer the question of sincere folks? When he needs to follow up a well-crafted answer by the democratic nominee or, worse, gives that person a chance to rebut something callous, stupid, or outright racist (I'm thinking Clinton vs. Bush back in 1992, the question that turned the election)

Seems to me that the best course of action for the democrats is to make sure any debates have a significant public element, with as little professional media intervention as possible. They should moderate, definitely, but the questions should come from elsewhere.
