Why doesn't Trump rock American suits?

Trump is saying he doesn't buy American goods because nothing is made in America any more. George Stephanoulous asked him why he doesn't buy American suits. He's rocking Italian made Brioni suits.

There are still a lot of fine American suit manufacturers

I disagree with your mediocritizing.
In the 1st Men In Black, when the Will Smith character gets his MIB suit, he says (paraphrasing) to the Tommy Lee Jones character, "the difference between you and me is I make this look good."
Essentially, they're wearing identical clothing, but only one of them is rocking it.

For me, to rock something is always and only "to use to great effect."

As for Trump not buying American, I doubt there is anything bout him I like, so am neither surprised nor disappointed to learn this. 2 of his 3 wives weren't American, why should his clothes be?

3. How many made-to-measure/bespoke tailoring suit makers are there in the USA anymore?

I can guarantee you Trump's not buying off the rack. (Neither would I, if I had his money.) So the options there are what, Brooks Brothers and maybe Ralph Lauren? Otherwise you go Italian or Savile Row (or Hong Kong if you want a relative bargain).

I had a need or enough money for bespoke. Turnbull & Asser and Holland & Sherry have NYC outposts. So does Ascot Chang. Lots of other bespoke tailors plying their trade there. Most of them will send someone to your office if needed.

Brioni, Kiton are mostly off the rack, although they will do a made to measure.

Oxxford is the American equivalent in price and quality. eg

Nothing wrong with Oxxford, but Trump seems to prefer something a little more stylish.

He would find the occasional Brioni suit.

You know Trump rocks Brioni because he has the ego the size of a house. BTW, John Gotti used to rock Brioni suits too... I read he had one of his lackeys pick out his clothes.

But as I said you can probably still buy a tailor made nice American one.

Reminds me of Pat Buchanan. For all his protectionist lip service he was rocking a Benz when he ran for president.
