Reposting from "Video & Media". This needs to be made a huge issue in the 2016 election. Trump needs to be confronted with this and answer for his lie. The media MUST press Trump on this!
----
He said he has people in Hawaii "that actually have been studying it and they cannot believe what they're finding". Oh, really? Well, we know that was a lie.
In 2011, Donald Trump was caught red-handed in a lie about the investigation into the President's birth certificate and nobody called him on it.
This should be a bombshell issue in the 2016 campaign.
Donald Trump should be pressed now, during this campaign, to answer exactly whatever happened to those unbelievable findings?
How could something unbelievable that Trump claimed was already found, suddenly disappear when President Obama released his long form birth certificate?
You cannot retract from existence something you already claimed existed unless you were lying.
A person who lies about an inquiry into whether a sitting president is legitimately allowed to hold the office of president, is unfit to be elected president themselves.
Trump needs to be pressed by the media and the democratic nominee (hopefully during a debate) to answer this FULLY. Not dodge, deflect or distract. Answer the question.
In regards to Obama's birth certificate, where did these alleged "findings" of his "people" that "they cannot believe" disappear to?

(14,255 posts)A politician's supporters simply do not care. This seems to apply to almost all politicians, these days.
And, really, if people are supporting a candidate because of personality or whatever, they won't care. If people are supporting a candidate because of actual issues (getting rare theses days) - they won't care. If people are supporting a candidate because they are the "lesser evil" (both parties) - they won't care.

(58,785 posts)all the Hillary Hate being spewed by their candidates to pick up the nasties that they refused to vote for them? Well, some, and many of those went indie--just as a statement because they then voted GOP anyway. They're used to it. SOP for their party.
Not the Democrats, btw. Pols on our side don't do that because liberals are repelled by that behavior. Look at Bernie. Yes, he has some followers who love that stuff, but all criticisms of Hillary have been very restrained.

(15,238 posts)The single most insightful DU post of 2016. There is no outrage to be had it has all been exhausted. It works for both parties and all candidates. Here on DU I spoke my mind on the Hillary group and got banned instantly, I almost got banned on the Sanders group and invited them to ban me they would not. There is no minor or major scandal, unethical act on a sliding scale, criticism, illegal act, short of shaking a baby in public that deters or gives pause to true believers both parties. They must all have warm fuzzy feelings in the morning looking in the mirror knowing they are smarter than every one else. Yes literally Trump possibly others could shoot someone on the street and be excused. That degree loyalty can be found elsewhere.

(3,457 posts)That contradictions are particularly useful to Mr. Trump also tells us
something about what some people find appealing about him. Indeed, it
reveals an even deeper contradiction. Mr. Trumps explicit lack of authenticity
is what makes him so authentic. He is like a walking oxymoron (which is
perhaps not surprising, given that reality TV is the medium in which he has
most flourished). To some, that he is contradicting himself so freely shows that
he really doesnt care what they (read: the news media, liberals, women,
minorities) think. The signal this sends is one of strength: Only the strong can
afford not to care.

(22,037 posts)Thanks for linking to this article, Human101948.
This last paragraph is pointed:
In George Orwells 1984, the protagonist is tortured until he agrees that two plus two equals five. The point, his torturer makes clear, is to make him see that there is no objective truth other than what the party says is true. Thats the deep power of contradiction. Repeated enough, political contradictions can lull us into giving up on critical thought altogether. And once that happens, we risk giving up on truth. At which point contradictions and everything other than power will no longer matter.

(2,166 posts)when the Media echo chamber goes off on Hillary releasing transcripts of her speeches. They should not even address the subject, but double down on the release of this information and his tax returns. End of discussion until these two issues are confronted.

Then this has to be an audience question at one of the town hall debates between him and Hillary.

(2,062 posts)Sad but the answer he can give is I have people on this and "they cannot believe" what they are finding.... he can simply say "I couldn't believe what they were finding, they were finding that he really was a citizen, and I don't believe it" thats the way he can get out if it.... I dont recall him saying the major finding were anything......

(64 posts)...or prophetic projection - I don't know. But Trump's last words in this 2011 interview about Obama's birth certificate and alleged birth location are "Obama may have perpetrated one of the greatest cons in American politics"! I'm not sure what historic political con could rival this, were it true.
But ever the "winner" and not to be outdone by the black guy - Donald himself has now set out to perpetrate the greatest con EVER in American politics!

(34,845 posts)They should simply look into the camera and tell it like it is: "Clearly Donald Trump did not know what he was talking about or he was simply running off at the mouth again."
Don't give him a chance to refute anything. Don't call him a liar. Put him on the defensive without directly attacking him.
