Things you could do with the recently alive:
1. Mix their ashes into a vinyl record to play
2. Mix their ashes into a paste which you can have tattooed on you
3. Rather that cremation (waste of energy, not green) have them sludged
4. Mushroom them in a special suit
God, I hate Mondays - this is so fuckin' morbid

(1,233 posts)There are apparently places that compost bodies. I think I would be fine with that- compost me and plant a tree; preferably a fruit or nut tree. Anybody wanting to feel closer to me could hang out in my shade, or feed themselves with my fruit. Probably more useful in death than I have been in life, lol.

(34,131 posts)If anyone wants to keep track of where the body is, they can plant a tree in that spot. If state laws won't allow burial without pumping poison into the body and without a casket, then I will be cremated and my ashes can be buried on my farm, same deal, plant a tree.
I see no reason for any marker, ceremony or remembrance of where I am buried. I have no soul so ceremonies are useless - if my survivors want to throw a party, they can do whatever they feel like. I have no children and am likely to outlive my husband and the sister I care about so any "survivors" will not be relatives whose feeling I care to consider.
Morbid? Maybe, but I need to make plans since I will not allow money to be spent on things I detest, like fancy funerals, embalming or memorials.
