this was my student's niece
he was freaking out because his phone was blowing up. i was in the process of getting him to the counselor when he was called to office. this poor kid has been through a lot and now this. in 2006 he watched his older brother murdered and now his niece is also murdered. i do not know what it is like to live with this kind of violence. i wish i could save them all

(24,411 posts)and I hope your student and the entire family received support from friends, family and the community.
2-years old is so very young. I'm sure the community is devastated.

Please allow this nurse to prescribe some self-care and permission to feel whatever range of emotions you might be going through. No matter what the head knows, the heart holds it's own domain.
